This does give me a little pause about Hamilton's injury. Would the Brewers really make a trade for someone to get two at bats against Skenes and then cut him loose when Hamilton is eligible to come off the IL before next weekend?

I expect Andrew Vaughn 2.0 and will accept nothing less.

The Brewers did/do have a quiet problem with the amount of young arms they are relying on and the end of season question for most of them on innings count. Wilson wants a major league job and the Brewers need a few arms they can (respectfully) abuse through the summer to hopefully save a few innings on the young arms and pen. Seems like a good fit for both as long as he can tread water while here. Welcome back Bryse! Sorry you had to play for the Cubs.

It's more a curiosity to me than anything why the IGT grumps protect Vaughn but ridicule EVERYONE else. Sanchez swings at a ball out of the zone "undisciplined". Turang goes 0-4 "only cares about launch angle". Ashby grooves a fastball "we can't trust him in October". Mitchell strikes out "will forever have a hole in his swing". Vaughn goes 4-23 to start July with 1 xbh and no RBI (against mainly rhp!) and leaves 8000 men on base.... "must be hard for him to get in a groove" "bad luck at bats" "everyone goes through these spells" "free Vaughn!" I like the guy too... but y'all are funny.

I know you all hate stats but you can't just keep saying this without any proof. Brewers Batting Vs Right-Handed Pitching In 2026 After today, Vaughn's OPS against RHP dropped below Hamilton's. Out of 14 guys on the team with at least 50 PA against righties this year Vaughn is 12th ahead of just Joey Ortiz and Luis Rengifo. His mashing against LHP is skewing your view of him.

Boeve is punching at the .300 door after tonight. Is it crazy think to get him a boatload of 3B reps and shove him up to Nashville to be a sleeper late season roster addition? I still think about his run pre-injury through Appleton. I thought he was fast tracking himself to MKE.

A few things from this series stand out besides taking 4 of 5 against them. Pratt getting comfortable and Lara flashing his ability should give a lot of hope both this year and moving forward that the MKE brass made great calls on both. Time will tell, good starts.
