Random thoughts I had:

  • Lockridge does many things right.  Not sure if his ceiling is enough to be an everyday player for a full season, but he's looking like an excellent fourth outfielder.
  • Bauers has already gotten at least a couple of extra bases thanks to being one of the fastest first basemen in the league.
  • Lots going on with Matos' swing.  I don't know how he stays on the roster all year, but nor do I think we could get him outrighted to Nashville.  Take it as it comes, I guess.

Why has the “in game thread” activity been so slow to kick off the new season? There is literally no one posting today.

Too much winning.

Facing a lefty they’ve never scored off, with two of their best RH hitters out, a Sunday lineup that’ll be lucky to score two runs, with a guy who’s got a long way to go be a reliable MLB starter on the mound, not to mention Murph burning thru the bullpen even more than usual in the doubleheader yesterday…win 8-5.

Very nice to save the best post for last.👍👍👍.

But you forgot the "using Ashby every game" complaints, when he hasn't pitched back-to-back days yet this season.

Harrison reminds me a lot of Chris Capuano, but he throws harder.  Hopefully, he can learn Chris' pickoff move.   But two nice games in a row for him.  Looks like a keeper.  How in the world did we get him for Durbin?

Sproat reminds me of a right-handed Aaron Ashby.  Everything almost moves too much to be really effective long-term.  Hopefully, he can figure it out, but I'm guessing he is the first one down when Priester comes back.

Still, two nice pickups in the offseason.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Two very nice calls. Through his first two starts I'd say Harrison is poised beyond his years.
