The Royals send left-hander Kris Bubic in the final game of the series. Bubic has not allowed an earned run against Milwaukee in 17.1 career IP. Bubic was also the starting pitcher against the Brewers during last year's home opener at American Family Field (11-1 win for KC).

Kyle Harrison makes his second start for Milwaukee. Harrison has one career appearance against Kansas City, appearing ut of the bullpen for San Francisco on May 20, 2025. He allowed 1 ER over 1.1 IP striking out 2. Harrison struck out 40% of opposing batters during his previous start with 47.5% chase rate thanks largely to his four seam fastball that he threw 55% of the time.

There are 119 active pitchers in MLB with 17 IP or more against the Brewers. Two have not allowed earned runs against Milwaukee: Chris Bassitt and Kris Bubic.   source

Only one inactive pitcher has 17 IP against Milwaukee without allowing an earned run, Jose Contreras. It is fair to say Bubic has been historically small sample dominant against the Brewers.

Fun to review the mix of excellent and mediocre pitchers who have mowed us down over the years. 🙂

Rough Sunday lineup. I'll be surprised if we get two runs.

Fastball becomes hittable once hitters realize he can't throw anything else in the zone.

He's got a long way to go before he's going to be a reliable starter in the big leagues.
