And my response is it's a small sample size and a lot of it potentially noise given he's been great with RISP otherwise in his career.

You take the bottom line numbers which are most important by far (i.e., 125 wRC+).

And this isn't saying he couldn't stand to improve his approach with RISP (or in general). Because he definitely can. Good thing he's only 22!

I think the RISP numbers this year could be that he's pressing more in those situations.  When he's chasing pitches outside the zone, the only chance he has is if the pitcher makes a mistake.  When he's patient and laying off the junk, he is a real force.  I think that will improve as he matures.

@Jake McKibbin just wrote an article about Chourio’s splits and he’s definitely been pressing with RISP. He has gone full Hackson mode this year with RISP with like a 71% zone swing and 45% chase rate.

I saw this and it confirmed what I've been referencing. Just saying he needs to get back to basics. If so watch out.
