Such a weird evening - an amazing rally by the Sounds, a brutal walkoff loss for the T-Rats, and the Warbirds were manhandled to an extreme. A Biloxi rainout saved us from additional drama.

Not sure I've seen a play quite like this (and to be fair, still haven't as the video cuts off), but this play did not shine well for Luiyin Alastre. That just can't happen.

After watching how the Nashville game ended, here's the balancing act to even things out on the night (unfortunately).

If you didn't yet, please go back and catch both elements of Luis Castillo's night in the recap (offense and defense), a fine season for sure and thinking out loud that perhaps Luis is rewarded with a Fall League stint this year.

It wasn't ideal (a net 9.00 ERA in the one-game sample rarely is), but RHP Thomas Conrad did manage to complete four innings in his High-A debut.

Warbirds Downed in Largest Defeat of the Season - Polanco Records Multi-Hit Game

When the Fredericksburg own game recap starts with the sentence, "This game was over from the start", one knows trouble is ahead. But that being said, the T-Rats were up 6-0 after the top of the 1st, right?

There was an odd dichotomy to affiliate games Friday. The two wild pitch endings (good and bad), the two nutso first innings (good and bad, though both final results bad), good thing Biloxi was rained out as who knows what the Shuckers may have thrown into the odd mix.

There is not a single clip of video from a positive Wilson perspective from this game. However, as might be expected, the home team lined up seven clips from their "X" feed. If that's not enough for you, the Nats' video page totaled eleven clips in all, which we believe sets a Link Report high for 2026.

So yes, losing streak now at double digits. Remember how poorly, especially offensively, the Warbirds kicked off their inaugural season? April was a quagmire. Now the back end has been a disaster. Wilson is now 64-64, so much goodness did happen between May and mid-August, but this weekend will determine if the team finishes at, above, or below .500 for the season.

This was the full-season ball debut for 19-year-old RHP Dariel Jaquez, who missed all of 2025 due to injury. He didn't escape the fateful 1st, pulled after 36 pitches. However, Jaquez deserved better, at least as catcher Kevin Garcia would admit here:

By far, Wilson's most effective pitcher was backup C/1B Eric Martinez, who has been called upon for mound duty three times since August 18th. As his pitching game log will show, he's been darn effective! This pitch burned him, but we'll highlight it regardless:
