Penalty for taunting on Golden for not recovering the kick

Refs totally missed a OPI in that TD too. These refs are horrendous. Makes it hard to watch.

that was awful

Another game where they did what they had to do, and it could have been even bigger. I’m not convinced the o-line will ever be good enough, but their defense is getting better and passed a big test tonight.

Overall, they’re probably going to get good enough to claw their way to the playoffs again. Rinse and repeat.

Will be interesting what Jacobs and Parsons bring to this team. I think with the current O-Line it won’t mean too much in that side of the ball. However, adding Parsons to this D could make them pretty scary.

Glad the Packers won.  But the one thing the NFL should be EMBARRASSED about is those Roughing calls against the Packers.  Complete garbage.

The quality of the NFL product this year has been as poor as I can remember.  That was boring and unwatchable. A game with 36 points scored has no business lasting three and a half hours.

Too much variability to call it like that. You could have a different play where a defender comes in with a comes in with a hand to the face of the QB for a roughing and definitely influences the throw.

Then make it a variable call just like they do with personal foul itself. If it occurs after the play it is enforced on the kickoff etc. The vast majority of RTP occurs after the ball is released. When it isn't that, it tends to be headshots that they call.

I probably have a list of like 10 things I would like to see implemented to get rid of all the ridiculous excessive flags that are ruining watching this sport. They should meet with MLB and discuss replay review while we're at it, they've managed to do it about 1000x better than the NFL.

Do they already? I mean if a QB throws a quick out and gets picked off and then the pass rusher takes like 3 steps and levels him clearly after the INT takes place, wouldn’t they call it on the return ?

I am not positive but I think the contact to the QB being before/after the interception being caught would be the deciding factor. In this case although the contact from LVN didn’t influence the throw, the contact definitely came before the INT was actually made.

Right, I wrote that confusingly, but I meant that right now, if someone gets blindsided on the return it doesn't wipe out the pick. If the ball is out prior to contact, let the INT stand. The one last night had nothing to do with the INT.

While we're at it, can we just wipe out the two-handed push being a penalty ever? Trust me, the QB will survive being love-tapped to the turf.

I get protecting the QB (because who wants to watch Tyrod Taylor) but it's getting to the point where any time there's a sack you are surprised there isn't a roughing call.

3 RTP's and 2 taunting calls. They were extending drives for Cowboys all night, lucky it didn't bite them.

Drops were bad, second game we had issues catching the ball this season. Really impressed with Gannon's schemes so far this year, it seems like he can always dial up a blitz that gets home when we need it. We will see if it is fools gold and once teams adjust to what he is doing we will be same old sieve defense.

Extending your arms to have that be what the QB absorbs seems like a reasonable compromise, like sliding. You can't stop all your momentum but you can put your arms out to weaken the contact rather than catapulting your whole body into him. Making it a 15-yard penalty is wild.

Golden said he was flexing at the crowd and the dude just happened to walk by.

I'm glad to see Strong get more chances at RB.  He always seems to produce when he gets a chance.  Here's hoping that he sticks around.

Why is Zeitler not starting yet?  Glover is not starting material.

DDS - He didn't have a good PFF grade (and had a dumb penalty), but the guy is a player.  He seems to make splash plays every week.  Barryn is solid (and ironically had a good PFF grade), but just disappears out there.

Cisse continues to show that he belongs as a starter.  This draft is shaping up to be a very good one - especially considering there was no 1st round pick.

Love was fire last night.  My general complaint about him was that he didn't elevate those around him, but I think he had a better night as a QB (i.e. leader, general, adjustments) than against Chicago.  There were some bad drops on what could've been an epic night. Plus, he did it all with so much pressure on him.

Wyatt - where did this guy go??  Is he done as a player already?

Hopper - Still a ways to go as a player (and had a poor PFF grade), but I think there is something there.  Great movement... just needs to clean up his finish.  McDuffie is steady Eddie with Cooper out, but Hopper is the upside potential.

OL - Morgan had another nice night.  A few ups and downs this year, but trending the right way.  If we can every get Aaron healthy and Zeitler in the game, we might bump up to decent.  Belton was down this week, but you can still see potential there.  Playing next to Zeitler should help too.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I’m getting a little concerned about the long-term viability of the NFL.

At some point the streets of “We Need To Protect the Players” and “Well this just isn’t a Fun Product Anymore” are going to intersect.

I'm glad they take things like head injuries more seriously these days but at some point there has to be some acceptance that this is just an inherently dangerous sport just like auto racing or boxing. Things like concussion protocol and those goofy looking helmets are probably good. But constant laundry on the field isn’t good for the sport.

That is what it looked like, I guess I assumed something was said officials heard. Hopefully this is just early season refs making a point and these calls start going away, only the Brooks roughing call looked legit.

I saw the tail end of the game, and frankly I thought the Packers got a lot of ticky-tack calls for the sole purpose of keeping the Cowboy's offense on the field so people wouldn't turn the TV off and go to bed.  And that is not a joke.

Add “Brought to you by Kalshi Boulevard” to your intersection and that’s going to be an even uglier pileup.

If match fixing and point shaving has come to every other sport, and now the gambling money is a million times greater, it is a question of if and not when. The NFL is so incredibly short-sighted right now it is laughable.
