  1. This game sort of snuck up on me, I still have the old mindset that preseason games are always on Saturday. It's good to hear starters will play some, MLF is a slow learner but he has figured out sitting everyone all preseason adds up to an ugly week 1. Very interested to see Lloyd and Cisse who have both looked good from reports. I am just catching up on camp news but sounds like Monk is pushing Belton at RG, hopefully that is because Monk has stepped up and not because Belton coasting. We could sure use the OL depth.
  2. I think I had said I was OK with either Pena or Henderson at the top of the package as long as the other pieces were further down the prospect list. So there is one, I still think one of those 2 was worth it but not both.
  3. Of course, we finally make a move and overpay. I guess it is TWO rentals and both fill a need
  4. I am going to be kind of upset if the Cubs come out of this deadline with a lot of help while we do nothing.
  5. This board has been pretty adamant that Henderson was too much but if this is true, Pena + Hardin + another pitcher let's say either Gasser or Letson. Still too much but I think I could live with it.
  6. Thinking about it more it probably would have taken Pena and Henderson to top it, or at least Henderson and Josh A. Henderson is in our rotation with I think 5 more years of control, Ryan not in LA rotation or needed with 4 more years. Maybe a similar deal but just a lot steeper price for the Brewers unfortunately. Happy to keep our guys, just don't pull a Schoop type deal after losing out this time.
  7. Pena and Henrderson would easily beat that deal but they could have topped it with just Pena and a couple of guys in the Brewers #10-20 range. It seems like a weak deal for the Tigers to me, really hinges on Ryan panning out. Oh well, we all knew this was how it would end.
  8. 40 homers in about 1000 career AB and only 26. Seems worth the flyer to me. Plus, it occurs to me that sending a big prospect package out for Skubal hurts less if they plan on cashing in William in the offseason. This gives them more to work with next season in that scenario.
  9. The closer we get and the more reports we see connecting the Brewers to him the more I am getting convinced we really need to do this. We just had a scheduled loss yesterday pushing back the starts fpr the young guys and we still have to hold off the Cubs. If it happens it may sting more that we expect, not Made as I read the Dodgers won't part with their top 5 guy either but maybe Pena as Dodgers have another guy ranked near him. For anyone with BTV access who wants to share or just for anyone's opinion, who is the more valuable trade piece, Henderson or Pena?
  10. Yes, when I read your first post I was thinking there may be squawking here about us giving up OUR 6th, 9th, and 14th best prospect for Skubal. 🙂 But he us about as high end a rental as you will find, I wouldn't blink at all about putting Henderson on top of the deal. But if Logan is the controllable starter they insist on I think the next piece falls below the Josh A/Fischer/Payne line but not by much. Probably 2 more guys in our top 20 to get it done. Dodgers will probably top it anyway but at least make them pay through the nose. Adding Skubal would be worth it, if it happens I don't think many here will be bemoaning the price. Too much fun to be had.
  11. I missed this so sorry for the late reply but looking at the link isn't this really just a restructure rather than an extension? If so, I don't know that this really changes the winner in this deal. The average yearly amount is still a healthy dose below the Packers extension for Parsons and they are still not on the hook for any additional money like we were in our trade. Not that who got the better of it isn't very much in question, just that this doesn't change it much, more money in Garrett's pocket now and less chance he gets cut early in the deal for sure.
  12. That makes me feel a little better. 65 pitches after missing just one start was a little concerning.
  13. Can't swing a dead cat in here without hitting a Yeli hater.
  14. I don't know what England was thinking, I guess they got to within 13 minutes of the final trying to hang on but giving maybe he best player of all time the space to create doesn't seem like a great plan. But yeah, great game. As far as intensity it's tough to beat these last few World Cup games. Just on the edge of your seat stuff even if you don't have a favorite.
  15. It's like they are just standing around..
