The conventional baseball wisdom of refusing to use a closer unless it's a SAVE SITUATION is, I'm sorry to say, stupid. Wise was clearly struggling with his control, Turnbow had just warmed up, and Yost left him in there, to throw a meatball to end the game.

I was happy to see Wise get that kind of opportunity. I think if he gets more chances like this, the outcome will be positive much more often than negative.

Turnbow has been struggling lately since he's been rushing his delivery. I felt more comfortable there with Wise, as he or Bottalico is more likely to get out of that jam at this point in time

Hopefully Ned's post game PC is on the radio, you'd have to think Powell will have an update of some variety before he signs off.

Let's look at the bright side. Clark didn't play tonight. Krynzel gave us no production to speak of so atleast tomorrow we'll be able to add two good hitters that we didn't have tonight.
