Coors Field Effect?

Very interesting, but the author doesn't go on to interpret possible reasons.

1. Just didn't "have it" yesterday

2. Injury

3. Tired

4. Lack of concentration (kind of similar to #1)

5. Thin air that maybe he's never experienced?

6. Other?

Hopefully it's #5 and would offer an explanation and comfort us that he will come back strong in his next start.

Tough call here. The way the initial post is written screams article tracker. The content of the article screams in-game thread.

The thread title is general, but really, the initial post should have had added content framing the topic into a broader discussion.

I'm going to leave this open and invite people to discuss the effects of Coors in a general sense. We haven't done that for a while. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Casey, either general Coors effect or "what happened with Yo" (with hopes it was the Coors effect and nothing else). But I guess you're right, the latter may have already been discussed during IGT.

I think this is a great topic of discussion. If we have learned anything from Coors, its that a certain type of pitcher really struggles there. Seeing a guy who relies on the combination of a fastball and curveball struggle in Coors is nothing new.

Would we have even been better off if Sheets had started the game? His ERA in Coors is 8.84.

I am not too worried about Yo struggling yesterday...I just hope he isn't worried either.

Let's just be thankful we never had to watch Ben Hendrickson pitch there. I have a feeling that could have been frightening.

Coors field isn't affecting Lilly's Curveball tonight. Cubs up 10-1.
And the Crew couldn't score 10 runs? I think this thread now belongs in the vent thread.

Seriously though, did anybody notice how many long fly outs the Crew had in that series? It seriously seemed like they were trying to long ball it all the time. I wasn't able to watch any of the games though. I "saw" most of it in MLB game day.

Lilly pitched poorly, the rockies just didn't score runs. He walked 5 guys and probably threw as many balls as strikes, the Rockies just kept chasing stuff out of the strike zone. The Rockies also played terribly in the field when they are one of the best fielding teams in baseball. I think they had some sort of letdown after the big game the day before.

The Rockies play great defense about every BUT the Cubs I think. Earlier in the year, Kaz Matsui booted a ground ball with 2 outs in the ninth that would have ended the game...Soriano gets a hit and the Cubs win. Last night, huge mess in the field....thank you very much Rockies!http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif
