    This doesn't seem difficult to me on what is best for the sport without getting into the minutia: 1. Salary cap and floor to mathematically keep overall player compensation consistent. 2. Revenue share so that all teams can hit the floor without losing money while also being incentivized teams and players to stay with their original team. 3. Pay prospects earlier but still reward teams that properly develop talent. I wish the owners and players could agree on these overall goals before getting into detailed proposals. A work stoppage would be bad for both parties.

    If Woody and QP get healthy, I think you have to move one of the young SPs to a high leverage bullpen spot. Its not going to happen, but I'd love to see Sproat come out and throw gas.

    Fair enough response. I am sure if they thought it would give them a competitive advantage (better health) they would do it. Do we know if there are MLB guidelines that they have to follow in this regard? It just seems like we, as fans, are doing a lot of speculating here.

    I'm sorry, but the idea that MA is too cheap to pad the entire wall it a little ridiculous. I don't know all of the reasoning behind it, but it seems pretty common to have a gap in padding at the ground in all ballparks around the league. I assume this is because of rain water / mold and so the grounds crew don't snag the pads when raking the field. With how smart the Brewers org is from top to bottom and always making moves to perform better than the competition, I have to think they are looking anything and everything they can do to keep their players healthy.

    This is an interesting debate, more interesting in my opinion than discussing locking Miz up. I would put Burnes and Sheets above Miz personally in terms of overpowering pitching prospects. Burnes combination of velocity and spin was off the charts. Sheeter had the best hammer curve I've ever seen. Miz can hit 103 and looks relatively low effort in his delivery. His length and leverage gives him velocity, but also can cause control issues if his mechanics get out of sync.

    I'd prefer they target guys like Logan Henderson. With Mis, sadly, I hope we get to enjoy 5 injury free years and I think that's the best we can hope for.

    I'm curious what you guys expected of Mis to list him as overperforming. An ERA around 3 and trending towards 160 IP is what I thought was a reasonable expectation given his talent level. Maybe I was being too optimistic.

    I haven't been able to watch as much of the games this year as I would like, but from what I've seen Sal has been outstanding in the field. His first step on that catch last night had to have been a play that 90% of other RFs don't make.

    The concern over Murphy's in game management is really odd to me. The Brewers obviously protect their IP in terms of competitive advantages, but I think we would all agree that 1- The various departments within the Brewers organization operate as one 2- they make decisions based on the data that they believe in. The idea that Murph is out there playing favorites or that he is completely in control making poor decisions on his own can't possibly be true. Why invest all the money and effort into the Pitching Lab if the manager is just going to manage old school by his gut? Rather, they obviously have data and a plan, which has proven out in the past, and I think the org has earned the benefit of the doubt that they probably know what they are doing over us posters here.

    I'm targeting a 2020-2023 VW ID.4 and I'm seeing them for around $16-$20k. I don't like VWs but that is an incredible value for a car that seems to be very functional outside of the horrible AV system (which I can live with).

    This is probably the only book I've read in the last 10 years (well, I listened to the Audiobook, but still). Can't wait to see it and glad the reviews have been so positive.

    I'm late to the party after watching the game delayed on the west coast, but going to go back and read the game thread during the Willson Contreras shenanigans in the 3rd. I'm not a lip reader, but I love that they caught Pat Murphy in the dugout saying "f**kin* pu***" after the HBP that barely caught his hand. I'm actually a bit surprised things didn't get more heated after the spikes-up slide on Hamilton. I wouldn't have minded seeing some of the Brewers get more upset there, but I'm guessing William Contreras has enough of the locker room that they laugh it off, and Hamilton knows his old teammates well enough to know Willson is just being stupid and to let it go. Still, how did that not piss them off more?

    My biggest hope to come out of the lockout is that any team can actually afford to keep generational talents for their careers if both sides are interested. How different would football look if Jordan Love or Rodgers went to the Giants after their rookie deals? The NBA wouldn't even be watchable for Bucks fans if we had to count down the days until Giannis would move to a larger market. Its really bad for baseball that Pitt fans know Skenes will be a Dodger or Met in a couple years. Hopefully that changes as I'd love to see a big 3 of Turang, Churio, and Made spend their entire careers in Milwaukee (realizing there are quite a few parallels to Yount, Molitor (who obviously didn't stay), and Gantner).

    This isn't The Real Housewives of Milwaukee. These guys know how the business works, especially with respect to Arby negotiations for Contreras. If anything, I'd think they are excited for Pratt.

    The last 2 MVPs the team built around have gone onto *checks notes* 1- fail a drug test and 2- back and knee injuries. Yeah, not lucky.

    With the way Bauers finished the season last year, I think he gets a pretty long leash to be a regular in the lineup.

    I don't see the need to build the order around Yelich anymore. I would consider batting Turang or Chourio in the 3rd spot. Everyone on the team is fast, so get your best hitters as many ABs as possible at the top of the order.
