This is actually for MVP - Most Valuable Priceless.... For priceless home run calls, which are calls for home runs hit by the visiting team. When an announcer calls a visitor's home run with very little emotion, they get replayed the following morning on XM's Baseball This Morning. Some of them are classic, and as you can imagine, Uecker is on there frequently.

Ahhh....Ok. I don't listen to the show every day, but lately I have. I just happened to jump on Mark Patricks web site this morning because of something he mentioned on the show this morning and I noticed the poll.

Landslide. Brewerfan.net strikes again. Poor Milo Hamilton. He was in the lead until Patrick posted this. Since then Ueck has out scored him (with votes) 130 - 1.

So I'm listening to "Baseball this morning" on XM on my way to work today. Mark Patrick comes on and starts talking about some "controversy" in the voting for Priceless announcer of the year. He states that up through yesterday the voting was pretty much going as planned with Milo Hamilton getting the majority of the vote. Then he states that someone must have "hacked" into the voting or something because all of a sudden Bob Uecker has a commanding lead. He then says that maybe all the Brewer fans heard this great call from Uecker last night and decided to go vote for him.

 

He goes on to play a recording of Uecker last night talking about Cleveland playing at Seattle, but Cleveland is really the home team (because of the snow storms earlier in the year) and that one of the stipulations of this situation was that all the Cleveland players get to stay in the Seattle players houses while the Mariners have to stay in a hotel. It was pretty funny.

Yeah I heard this on XM this morning as well. I hope that they don't disqualify Uecker.
