Brewers Video
Transactions:
- Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent OF Eddie Rosario to a minor league contract.
- Milwaukee Brewers optioned RHP Elvis Peguero to Nashville Sounds.
- Biloxi Shuckers activated C Victor Torres from the Development List.
It also appears that RHP Fray Morelo has been released (brief details provided here).
Final: Memphis (Cardinals) 8, Nashville 5

The Sounds have yet to release their game summary as of this AM - here is the still-helpful Memphis report:
Baker Blasts Redbirds Past Sounds on Friday Night
It appears that Luken Baker did not take kindly to being plastered all over the internet as the 103 MPH strikeout victim of Jacob Misiorowski a day earlier. Baker blasted two home runs off an ineffective Sounds starter Bruce Zimmerman. With Zimmerman on the rubber, along with relievers Garrett Stallings, Jesús Liranzo and Vinny Nittoli, it was not a prime night for top prospect watchers, although the three relief veterans combined to allow only one earned run (Stallings) over the final 3.1 innings.
Oliver Dunn is going to continue to see time at shortstop, as he did here. He'll split with Freddy Zamora.
Bobby Dalbec, playing right field, singled for his first hit in 18 at-bats as a Sound (8 K's, 0 BB's).
But the primary story in this game filled my morning with video research, follow along here:
That link also provides foreshadowing of a very unfortunate development in the Biloxi game. Nick Kahle is on hand to be the Nashville backup catcher to Jorge Alfaro.

Shuckers Suffer Walk-Off Loss to Biscuits - Maciejewski strikes out 5 over 3.0 shutout relief innings in low-scoring affair
Luke Adams, playing first base, and Zavier Warren, playing second, both reached base twice. Warren tripled. The Shuckers had six hits, including three for extra-bases, and walked six times as well, but 12 K's and a 2-for-11 evening with RISP spelled doom.
We never did get definitive word as to why RH starter Brett Wichrowski was held back in Maryvale side sessions to begin the season, but this was his third start with Biloxi and the five walks and one strikeout over three innings is a sign he's not quite at capacity. That's now nine walks and an HBP over ten innings in 2025.
Justin Yeager pitched a sweet 1-2-3 8th inning, but it's hard to work around a leadoff triple, as he quickly found out in the 9th.
Like the Nashville game, the focus here is sadly on another serious injury exit:
Very coincidentally, inexperienced Victor Torres (all of 31 AB's with Carolina and Wisconsin in 2024, zero AB's thus far in 2025) was activated off the Development List prior to this game. Unless the organization plugs in catcher help for the Shuckers (they almost assuredly will), Torres will act as Darrien Miller's backup for now.

Hardin Deals a Shutout to Beloit - Right-hander allows two hits and strikes out seven in 1-0 win
Keep in mind, this was posted earlier in the day:
7 IP, 2 H (both singles), 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K, 92 pitches, 61 strikes.
My goodness, Tyson - also, be sure to listen to the Will Schierholz interview below for insights on Hardin, Manuel Rodriguez, Bishop Letson, Bayden Root, Aaron Rund, Zach Peek, and other arms at the affiliates. Thanks, Chris, for asking about the sideline status for those currently on the mend (Rodriguez, Letson).

Garcia’s Homer Wins Game for Wisconsin - Rattlers sweep doubleheader from Sky Carp
C'mon, Eduardo, celebrate! When have we seen such a relatively forlorn personal "celebration" crossing home plate and then immediately leading the way into the clubhouse? Chris Mehring describes Garcia's prior at-bat in the 4th in both printed and audio form (with Manager Victor Estevez), a particularly futile attempt, and perhaps Eduardo was still thinking about that. Estevez does indicate he had a dugout chat with Garcia after that 4th inning trip to the plate.
20-year-old southpaw Anthony Flores and 26-year-old Bayden Root were equally impressive and as the highlights show, had some sweet defense behind them (also discussed in the podcast).
Final: Fayetteville (Astros) 5, Carolina 1
Box Score and Game Log
Could Marco Dinges be part of a catcher promotion shuffle necessitated by the injuries discussed above?
Josh Adamczewski still nursing back pain (word has it), and this lineup also lacked Jesus Made and Braylon Payne. It's almost a dizzying effort to keep track of who may (or may not be) nursing minor injuries. The fact that Manager Nick Stanley had backup catcher Yannic Walther as the designated hitter in the nine-spot is an indication of a thin Friday night lineup and bench.
Hello, 2024 3rd round RHP Jaron DeBerry, now with 13 K, 1 BB, 1 HBP in 8.2 innings of one-run ball in his three starts as he continues to stretch out. A sweet four innings here...in the interview linked above, Schierholz indicated DeBerry was "banged up" in Maryvale prior to landing in Carolina.
Final: ACL Brewers 8, ACL Dodgers 7
Box Score and Game Log
Ejections: ACL Brewers manager Rafael Neda ejected by HP umpire Brice McCormick (3rd); ACL Brewers shortstop Jorge Quintana ejected by HP umpire Brice McCormick (5th).
OK, so a bit of dispute fireworks in the desert, but another win in the end for the 9-2 Baby Brewers.
Tyler Black played left field, he doubled and walked here in a 1-for-2 effort before exiting this, his 2nd rehab game. He played first base in rehab game #1.
Jeferson Quero walked as part of an 0-for-3 night, he was the DH after catching two games earlier this week.
Did the organization lose a 3rd catcher (Seigler, Rodriguez) to injury on this night? Just-turned 18-year-old Luis Corobo (four DSL HR's in 2024) left after the first inning. The game log indicates there may have been a play at the plate early in the 1st, though Corobo finished the frame and only failed to return after reaching the dugout/clubhouse.
The A-Crew held on despite four errors, primarily due to a stellar three-inning relief outing from 20-year-old Venezuelan lefty Jose Meneses.
It's a quick turnaround for the T-Rats, as along with Maryvale, they play an afternoon tilt on Saturday. My thanks in advance to my fellow Link Reporter Daniel for switching off Sunday morning as I head out on a brief vacation getaway to northern New Hampshire, from where I'll continue to follow his postings and all things minor-league Brewers on our forum. Take care, everyone.
