  1. Why isn't Bush in this discussion? Would anyone else prefer McClung AND Weaver over Bush? I say keep Villy and Dillard working out of the pen (for the time being), give Weaver a shot in the rotation and ditch Bush. I've tired quickly of Bush's inconsistency. It seems like we always play behind while he pitches. At least we could see something new in Weaver.
  2. I heard Dillard once threw a gyroball that had people in the stands diving for cover...and it just missed the outside corner for ball three.
  3. As someone who was there on that fateful April day against the Pirates (my first ever Opening Day game), I can honestly say Branyan has carved out a small piece of tender muscle in my otherwise lacking heart. Marley I love the analogy as well. Spot on. The best part of that analogy is thinking that even though that girl has been passed around and worked over like old Schwinn, you know, somewhere, in the back of your dark mind, she just might be able to give you the ride of your life one more time. Since the signing, I've been dreaming of heading back to Miller, after Russ has been recalled due to injuries, watching him belt two big ones and then circle the bases as the sunlight gleems off his tinted Oakleys. Here's to dreaming.
  4. I'm going to throw this out here even though I know it adds nothing but fantasy and novelty to the conversation. I had a dream last night that the Brewers traded Clark and Hendrickson to the Rockies for Taveras. True story. I woke up thinking we had a new center-fielder. And though the trade seems possibly far-fetched (would the Rockies be willing to take so little?), it somehow just felt right. Think about it.
  5. Patrick, thanks for that Turnbow link. I had to laugh out loud at some of qoutes. You can almost see him - hair-pulled over the eyes, zero expression - saying these things... "I didn't know that what I was taking was going to make me fail a drug test, period." "What happened is bad publicity." "I never would have failed a drug test if I hadn't volunteered for USA Baseball." You know I love him to death, but he is not a smart guy.

  7. I'm still kinda chewing on this, but I think it's a great deal. Eveland is really the only player I'll miss, but think about Estrada! Good one Doug.
