  1. Looks like Looper had a few words for the defense. I liked Macha's double take. I expect that to be handled away from the cameras.
  2. On an unrelated note, I just saw a Cubs commercial for stubhub.com and they showed a few seconds of fans cheering Zambrano in Miller Park. Ugh...now they're encouraging scalpers to snatch up our tickets.
  3. that image is from the Chuckie Carr tribute site I built in the late '90s (doesn't seem to work now)...glad to see the images are now on the image search. also: http://www.leftoverchinese.com/images/scoreboard.jpgrough game to witness
  4. I also would like to be included in this lottery you speak of. While I promise not to sell the tickets on e-bay, I will most certainly put the ticket stubs up for auction should Dave Bush (according to my fuzzy rotation math) throw a no-no next week.
  5. I could add plenty to this list....to wit: - Dogs in drivers' laps. - People who drift when they check their blind spots. - Drivers who honk when you've been standing at a green light for 5 milliseconds too long. - Popular practice in Chicago : driving full speed towards an intersection that just got the green light, then using right lane to pass all the cars who are just getting going. - Another Popular practice in Chicago : Lead footing from stop light to stop light. - Truck drivers who make sudden lane changes/don't use their signal. - Slamming on your brakes when the speed limit changes from 45 to 25 (i.e. when you enter a town on a state hwy). It's not necessary (unless you're crossing into Waunakee from Madison)...just ease back ahead of time. - Drivers who cut into or through funeral processions. - Drivers who don't respect bicyclists. My Passenger Peeves: - Drivers who make turns with underhanded motions. - Drivers who stick their hands through the steering wheel.
  6. I was on vacation a last week and passed through Rochester and coincidentally saw Liriano start for the Redwings. Buffalo's hitters had no chance and even the locals were assuming he'd be called up anytime now. based on what I saw, there's no way he should be on the AAA roster right now.
  7. Braun may or may not have home run derby disease.
  8. The streetlights went out when that HR landed, and now it's raining. Uh...
  9. I guess the next obvious question would be if he gave the money back...if not, was the beat down worth it?
  10. The thread title looks misleading as it appears both cubs and sox fans were beating up on the drunken lout. I've been to these games before and they're peaceful for the most part. I'm sure just as many fights went down at Wrigley last weekend...but since it's the cell, the media (and espn) is quick to mention that US Celluar is brawl city.
  11. Swisher's GS was opposite field...my favorite kind.
  12. As much as I hate to see us trade a player before he breaks out, we have to remember this is Hammonds and Skiles show now...Yi had his own handlers and coaching, so if the organization is trying to build a unified "program" (as much as an NBA franchise can) this is a step in that direction. Still need to address the backcourt situation and I'm curious to see what will happen next.
  13. This radio spot used to annoy me, but they should bring it back on retro fridays: "secondhand smoke kills. secondhand smoke kills. secondhand smoke kills. secondhand smoke kills. secondhand smoke. kills." - Jim Powell
  14. No order here either: Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours Islands - Arm's Way Deerhunter - Microcastle (official release later this year) Ghengis Tron - Board up the House M83 - Saturdays Youth Ratatat - LP3 (july release) Mates of State - Rearrange us Cool Kids - Bake Sale EP (technically comprised of old songs) Can you guys believe Tha Carter III sold 1.0M Units? Unheard of. I'm starting to think these are just albums released in '08 that I've listened to... Dishonorable Mention: Weezer - The Red Album (I do think it has its moments) My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges (Aside from the single, the rest is kinda hokey)
