Impressions of Roenicke so far (part 3)

Don't forget leading off Corey Patterson a couple of games... But hey, at least he is fast. -

Macha had the gall to pull Hoffman from the closers role and put an unheralded guy named John Axford in the 9th inning for the Brewers, that worked out okay.Macha also managed to use Kameron Loe correctly, and gave him his best season in the bigs. I really think, had the teams ERA been a run and a half lower last year, everyone in or out of the clubhouse would've loved Ken Macha. While I agree on Axford, Loe was actually better this year. His FIP was almost a run lower than last year and his XFIP was over a 1/2 run lower. His K/BB rate was better this year and he gave up far fewer home runs per/9. He basically just got unlucky this year. -

You forgot replacing Weeks and Hat on defense but still leaving Yuni in. It is unfortunate but I feel the same way. We won but his decision making has been pretty suspect. How about the fact that Rickie made last out and CC was put in on a double switch. Which of course allowed Axford to pitch two innings. Morgan had misplayed three balls in the series in center, including one in the sixth inning that cost Yo 20 extra pitches. -
I would really pay money to watch this guy play defense. I know they lost the game below, but its my favorite catch of the year, as Gomez is going full speed. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/....jsp?content_id=15653127

Good point. That is my bad.

Apparently Kirk Gibson understands it as Upton is sitting too.

National League MVP 2011: Braun = MVP! (reply #318)
TGJforPrez replied to jjfanec's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I am not sure how this makes Prince more valuable? In my mind, it means he is susceptible to a certain type of pitcher which Braun isn't. While Prince's OPS aginst left hand pitching is still a respectable .811, its quite a bit lower than any split Braun has. Also, while Braun is poor defensively in his own right, he is a much better defender than Prince at a harder position. And none of this is accounting for Braun's base-running abilities which puts him near the top of the league while Prince is near the bottom. -

Not sure this is proper place, but the Crew's number one prospect is having a nice little night...hint hint

Agreed. I don't know how that's on RR. Sure, one batter too long, but the defense was suspect and Saito didn't get the job done when called upon.

1) Sterling Sharpe - I remember going to Packers camp in the early 90's as a young kid and everyone saying there was no way to get Sterling's autograph. Well I waited around and some guy had painted a huge picture of him. Sterling was pretty jacked after the guy gave it to him and signed for me and one other kid afterward. 2) Dominique Wilkins - I was not a Bucks fan and wanted to be different from everyone else (i.e., Larry, Magic, MJ), so I just loved the Hawks and the Human Highlight Film. It helped that the Hawks were always on TBS back in the day. 3) Paul Molitor - My Dad was Yount guy, but the Ignitor was definitely my favorite Brewer 4) Barry Sanders - Even as a die hard Packer fan, I just loved to watch this guy run. I'll never forget watching him go nuts against the Bears on Thanksgiving! 5) Bo Jackson - The things he could do on the diamond and football field were just amazing. His throw home from the wall to get Harold Reynolds is still the greatest jaw dropping play I can remember. It didn't hurt that he was the greatest video game athlete of all time either (Thank you Tecmo Super Bowl) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs-1hPkLKeQ 6) Andre Agassi - Was a big tennis fan and he was the most flamboyant and fun to watch.

Not saying I agree with it, but Lopez is the only righty on the bench and he probably didn't want to use him in the 5th. Not sure if the Dodgers have a bunch of lefty's in the bullpen for later innings or not?

Is it weird if I think of this song below every time Axe comes in? It only makes sense for the first few seconds, but its all I can think of http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8rxGq6lnJ8

Other than Yuni reverting back to being Yuni, I think another reason the offense is really struggling on this homestand is that Morgan has been pretty awful.
-
Well, I almost agree, I think the dude from Toronto that fixed Jose' Bautista might have him by a tad http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Didn't Braun play SS at the U? Lets make this super fun and start Braun at SS and Gamel in LF.

Looks like the Brewers just reacquired Felipe Lopez. Now if they can get Furcal, we can dump Counsell and send Farris back to where he belongs.

The problem is, I think the trade helps them this year. The upgrade from McClellan to Edwin Jackson is pretty big, plus the Cards get some bullpen help. Jay has actually been better than Rasmus this year so unless Berkman is out for awhile, it doesn't really hurt them in the OF. Long term though, they really messed this up with Rasmus. He could become a star hitting in the Sky Dome (or Rodgers Centre).

I dislike Yuni as much as most on here, but someone needs to explain to me how that was an error and a ball right to Prince last night wasn't?

Wolf starts Saturday against Lester. I am wondering if Kottaras will start against a lefty??

It was Josh Beckett

Have to be Maddux correct?
