  1. Another thing I dislike about Yost: when he gives guys the day off, instead of reshuffling the lineup so it makes a bit of sense, he just plugs guys in where the regular starter was hitting. I swear, he'd play Joe Dillon for Prince for a day and Dillon would bat cleanup.
  2. .828 vs. L (2nd in NL), .739 vs. R (9th in NL)
  3. I think you misunderstood me...I did think it was silly. I didn't specifically mean you...I meant, as a whole, a lot of people take each side.
  4. I find it interesting how different people respond differently to acts like getting ejected and throwing inside/beaning opponents. Some say it's "showing fire" and some say it's just "classless." I personally think it's classless and the Brewers need to take out their frustration on the field.
  5. Good point. I was actually hoping to wake up tomorrow and hear that Soup had been scatched for McClung McClung wouldn't have pitched tomorrow anyway, as he'll be starting on Tuesday (vs. Volquez...= LOSS)
  6. W/ Jason Bay going to Boston. EDIT : How were those pitches from Gagne? Balls? Did he have a case when arguing with the ump? Gamecast says they were right on the corner... The 1st 3 balls moved Edmonds back, the 4th one was behind him. It was pretty obvious. Sucks to be the 1st Brewer batter up in the bottom of the 9th.
  7. I lol'd at that one. Sounds like we all need a lesson in managing expectiations http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif He's got 9 quality starts this year...just a lot of really crappy ones, too.
  8. Tomorrow will be one of the Crew's most important games of the year so far. Need Suppan to give us 6 or 7 quality innings, NEED the offense to get back on track.
  9. Bushie had great stuff today. He was just one pitch away! Actually, it's good to see Bush settling down after the grand slam and eating up some innings for us.
  10. Remember the game against the Cubs when the Brewers were up 5-0 but the Cubs won on a 2 out 3-run HR by Aramis Ramirez off Cordero last year? Boy would it be sweet to repay them. Just get another run this inning, force the Cubs bullpen into a save situation...they're minus Wood, so anything can happen. Maybe a walkoff against prized rookie Samardzjsildfsia?
  11. I was never a Yost fan, but I didn't think he was really a poor manager and I thought the Brewers could still win a WS with him. But his patience/stubborness has just become too much for me. Weeks STILL at the top of the lineup?!?!?!? Let this guy develop somewhere else, somewhere where he'll be under no pressure of a playoff race. Here is not the place (especially with a .290 hitter sitting behind him).
  12. Wow, most of you guys seem to have jumped off the ledge already. Remember, this team is still in great shape for the wild card spot, and when October hits, ANYTHING can happen. When the Cards won the WS a couple years ago, they had TWO 10-game losing streaks during the regular season. Season is far from over. Remember, Harden is due for an injury any week/game/pitch.
  13. I think if some of you managed ballgames, everyone with an error or a K with RISP would get pulled immediately.
  14. i definitely heard them as well.
  15. That wasn't "an error". That was a gutless play. Weeks totally bailed out because he was afraid of getting hit by the baserunner. He let the whole team down, especially CC, and a guy like Yost is not going to let him get away with it. He hung in there, he just made a bad throw. He DID take the hit by the baserunner. Sure, said runner distracted him, but I doubt the error had anything to do with cowardice. Remember, Weeks is perennially among the league leaders in HBP.
  16. Ah. A great message that would send. "One mistake and you're done." Would completely destroy his confidence. It's an error. Players make errors. Yes, even ones that lost games. Doesn't mean you jettison him immediately, especially since Durham's D is even worse.
  17. If Sabathia gives up a run(s) here, the Yost haters will %!@$% about him leaving him in too long. I'd rather him leave him in there, cuz our relievers always seem to walk the first batter.
  18. This is what playoff chase baseball is all about.
  19. Jeter and A-Rod both have a shot. I think A-Rod will get it for sure. Looking way ahead, Carl Crawford is at about 1100 at age 26. He might get there if he keeps it up.
  20. May 28: Brewers 1, Braves 0. Suppan outduels Jo-Jo Reyes. June 19: Brewers 8, Blue Jays 7. The bullpen turns Bush's near-no-hitter into an almost-loss. June 21: Brewers 3, Orioles 2. McClung gets the W. 3-0. Hoping to get to a game or 2 this week and a few later in the year.
  21. I don't know if any of you post on the ESPN forums...but if you do, are you having problems logging in? My computer used to work fine with the forums but now it won't let me log in. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
