  1. Wow. This trade is one of the most interesting trades in years. 2 of the most rising young stars in the entire league. I personally really love it for the Yankees. Their rotation is now probably one of the top 3 in baseball. Sabathia/Pineda/Nova/Hughes. Both of these guys are very close to cant miss. Montero will win a batting crown one day. This can probably cross out Prince to Seattle now as well. Maybe Yankees jump in on the Prince mix on a 2 year opt out deal to DH worth about 25 mil a year. Ill just say it is more likely now than it was yesterday at this time. Probably about a 1% chance now. Still love the trade for both teams. Jack Z very aggressive.
  2. That is honestly the farthest thing from the truth. I am guessing you are a badger fan, since that is what all UW fans believe; but that argument has no merit. Look at his counterpart at the JS who covers the Badgers, posts on UW message boards, etc. TR is not even a fan of MU in the least.
  3. Wow, congrats to him for the unique opportunity he will have. He one of the better writers the MJS has. Him and TH will no doubt have one of the best blogs out there as they are both blogging enthusiasts. Think it will probably take some time for him to get all the advanced metrics of baseball stats down though. Looking forward to reading his stuff though while he is on the beat
  4. Maybe ask Rosiak a question in the live blog tonight that he is hosting on the js website. Might be able to get an answer out of him there.
  5. Actually its on Tom Haudricourts facebook page so if any of you are friends with him on there you can read it on his page.
  6. According to Todd Rosiak's facebook page, he will be the new Brewers guy alongside TH. Great writer, but it sounds like he does not have any interest in baseball
  7. Heard a rumor about who the replacement is going to be. We might end up wanting Witrado back if it comes to fruition
  8. That last article that was posted was written by former Brewers beat writer Rick Braun. He will also be writing the gamer for that same paper tonight. I hope Rodgers goes out and performs well. Just want 5 solid innings with good control.
  9. FYI guys, the writers never make their own headlines. There are copy editors for that and they create it after reading the story that was submitted by the writer
  10. An outfield of Braun/Cain/Weeks would be pretty intriguing in my opinion. I mean athletically it would be tough to match. Weeks has a strong enough arm no doubt to play RF and there have been numerous examples of that. He is athletic enough to make the transition but he has said numerous times his position is 2B. Well if he cant play 2B and it is hurting us in the field, then managament really has to sit down with him and talk about it.
  11. According to the Fielding bible he is already at a -8 rating this season. He was solid last year but this year he has really struggled over the past few weeks. In the recent Jayson Stark artcile there is a section of it where an NL Scout suggests he should be moved to the outfield. Here is the excerpt This has been mentioned a lot over the past few years but he really looks lost this year. Not necessarily the arm accuracy, but just getting to balls and making the relatively routine play. Weeks in CF maybe next year?
  12. He would have scored. One of the fastest players on the team with your coldest hitter comng up and 2 outs, that is an automatic green light. Hart should have just ran through it. Especially with the missed cut off man
  13. How does Fisher not send him there. That is a terrible mistake
  14. Looks like Anthony Witrado was getting some work in on Trenni. Congrats to him lol
  15. I dont see really anything wrong with it. You guys are saying hes not hard enough on Yost but I dont know what he is supposed to do differently. Go up to him during pressers and say why is Cameron still batting in the 2 hole or why would you ever pitch Mota in the 8th after Villy just pitched a perfect 7th? Who cares if he asks those. And if he does try to challenge Yost he wont get a thing for the rest of the year as far as sound bites or anything. I just think TH doesnt overreact like everyone on this board does when we win 2 or 3 in a row or lose 4 or 5. Him and Yost are both similar in that regard. He writes good gamers (you said it yourself) and so far this year has been the first to break all the Brewers news. Everyone rips the MJS but I bet you couldnt find 5 better beat writers all around (blogging, gamers, notes, breaking news) than TH in baseball.
  16. If he was healthy all those years we would be talking about 750 right now or maybe even 800. Hell of a career though. Still my all time favorite player
  17. Count me in as well. Thanks for this Pedro
  18. Would Braun really move again? That would be one great outfield though.
  19. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6735 Just bashes Yost for his non usage of CoCo last night and his misuse of his bullpen. I dont know if this goes here or not. Might be in the vent thread buts its very interesting and could cause some good debate
  20. Have we found an explanation yet for that double steal? That was dumb. We were Yosted 2 times in 1 at bat. Why no Mench there
  21. Man there goes that feel good story. That guys career goes straight down the drain
  22. Please, please tell me your kidding about this. What more could we have got for C.Lee. A dominant closer who has put us in this situation where we are right now and guy who smashes left handed pitching. We got Bush and Gross for Overbay so theres another one for us. Melvin has done plenty of good things after the Sexson deal
  23. I know there is a thread on this but looked and could not find it. Anybody willing to help out? Thanks
