  1. My daughter was watching "Best Friends Whenever" on Disney Channel tonight and the special guest star was 87-year old Marion Ross of Happy Days fame. Not sure when this episode was produced, but she looked spry and delivered her lines pretty well.
  2. I would dress appropriate for what the job would be, or maybe slightly better. Try to match how you think the best employees in that job would look.
  3. Don Harron died today at age 90. If his name isn't familiar, he was on Hee Haw as the KORN news reader, and basically rode that character, Charlie Farquharson, for his whole life. Not unlike the guy who played Foster Brooks or the guy who played Charlie Weaver. I won't pretend that Hee Haw was great art, but it did deliver some country music greats...Hank Snow, Roy Acuff, Faron Young, Johnny Cash, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Stringbean, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, June Carter, Grandpa Jones, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, etc. And if you catch it some nights on RFD TV, you might find episodes with Johnny Bench, Dizzy Dean or Mickey Mantle.. RIP, Don. You delivered pure, rural Canadian schtick.
  4. I'm stunned that Donna Douglas was born in 1933. She was at least 10 years older than her Ellie May Clampett character. I miss that kind of sitcom.
  5. My favorite part of Welcome Back Kotter was during the short segments, either leading in to the show or at the end, when Gabe was telling a story/joke to Mrs. K. It was just the two of them in the apartment together. Obviously it was written and rehearsed and they were actors, but when Kaplan delivered the punchline, and she would laugh, it seemed very sweet and charming. As a teenager, that's how I imagined a great marriage would be.
