    The Milwaukee Brewers selected Aidan Knaak at pick No. 163 in the 2026 MLB Draft. Knaak is a right-handed pitcher out of Clemson. The slot value for the pick is $425,400, and the Brewers will likely be looking to sign Knaak for slot or below. 
    Knaak was ranked 210th on the MLB Pipeline board. He is known most for his changeup, which grades out as a 60-grade pitch, and is a pitch he manipulates the shape and velocity of. Beyond the changeup, Knaak throws a four-seam fastball with some late life, above-average carry, and has been up to 96 MPH, while sitting more in the 92-93 range. There's an upper-70s curveball, as well as a gyro slider in the mid-80s, though he does not generate much spin on the breaking balls.
    Knaak got off to a tremendous start in his college career, but his draft value slipped this season when he pitched to a 5.81 ERA, though he still struck out 88 batters in 57 1/3 innings. The Brewers are likely looking to buy low on a talented arm here, with some untapped potential left.

    The 2026 Bryse Wilson tour is making a stop in Milwaukee.
    The right-handed reliever signed a major-league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Left-handed reliever Drew Rom was optioned to Triple-A Nashville and right-handed reliever Easton McGee was designated for assignment.
    Not only is Wilson back with the Brewers for a second time in his career, but Milwaukee marks his third team in the past three weeks. Wilson was designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies on June 22, then claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs two days later. The Cubs then DFA'd Wilson on Saturday and he went unclaimed and chose to become a free agent. Now he is with the Brewers, the team he pitched for in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
    As a former starter, Wilson provides length out of the bullpen. He has made just three relief appearances in the majors since being called up by the Phillies on June 18 after he triggered an upward-mobility clause in his contract. Wilson has pitched 9⅔ innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. No doubt he is looking to rediscover the magic he found with the Brewers, when he made 87 appearances (nine starts) over 181⅓ innings, posting a 4.68 FIP (3.42 ERA) with a 7% walk rate and 18.9% strikeout rate.
    Rom made five appearances with the Crew, going 5⅔ innings, walking four (14.8%) and striking out 11 (40.7%).
    McGee was on the verge of making the Brewers' Opening Day roster when they acquired Jake Woodford in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays. Instead, McGee was optioned to Triple-A, where he has spent most of the season. He was called up twice and made two appearances, allowing no runs on one hit with one walk and one strikeout.

    While a lot of Milwaukee Brewers fans might be clamoring for more punch in the offense, one of baseball's top insiders has identified another need for the Crew.
    Playoff-caliber starting pitching, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. One of the reasons for needing starting pitching is the new shoulder injury to right-hander Brandon Woodruff, while right-hander Logan Henderson just returned Thursday from a stay on the injured list with a back issue.
    As Passan sorts through all of the contenders, he made two choices for each club. One was a best-match trade addition, the other was a dream pickup.
    The best match, Passan says, is the Brewers connecting with their old front-office boss David Stearns with the New York Mets and acquiring right-handed starter Clay Holmes. Having recently returned from a broken right leg 2.39 ERA (3.19 FIP) in 52⅔ innings with an 8.4% walk rate and 20.9% strikeout rate. But it is Holmes' experience as a postseason reliever in 2021, 2022 and 2024 that could help push the Crew over the top. Holmes also fits financially as he is making $12 million this year and $13 million next year.
    But in a dream scenario, the Brewers would grab Minnesota Twins right-handed starter Joe Ryan. Ryan has ace qualities that would pair very nicely with Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski, the MLB leader in strikeouts (167) and ERA (1.62). Ryan has a 2.65 ERA (2.83 FIP) in 19 starts, having already logged 104⅓ innings. Ryan has a 5.4% walk rate and 28.8% strikeout rate. Ryan, making $6.1 million this year, would be more of a rental as he has a mutual option for 2027. Mutual options are almost always declined.
    The Brewers certainly have the prospects to get either deal done.

    The Milwaukee Brewers have one of their key arms back.
    Right-hander Logan Henderson was activated from the 15-day injured list and will start for the Brewers in Thursday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals. Right-hander Garrett Stallings was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
    Henderson has been out since late May with a strained lower back. Henderson was not on the Opening Day roster and then made an early spot start before coming up again in early May. Overall, he has made five starts and pitched 23 innings, with a 2.42 FIP (2.74 ERA) along with a 6.7% walk rate and 33.3% strikeout rate.
    If Henderson goes 2⅓ innings today, he will match the number of innings he pitched last year with the Brewers in his MLB debut season. Henderson also returns to the rotation as the Brewers have lost veteran right-hander Brandon Woodruff, who is considering shoulder surgery with a new injury.
    Stallings made two appearances since being called up June 30, including his MLB debut. In those two outings, Stallings pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a hit, walking one and striking out four.

    In a move made about 30 minutes before the first pitch of Tuesday's doubleheader, the Milwaukee Brewers placed infielder David Hamilton on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring. Infielder-outfielder Greg Jones had his contract selected from Triple-A Nashville and outfielder Brandon Lockridge (right knee laceration) was transferred to the 60-day injured list.
    The Brewers also sent right-handed pitcher Carlos Rodriguez (right shoulder impingement) on a rehab assignment to Nashville.
    Hamilton was injured in Monday's series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals as he rounded second base and stopped suddenly to go back to the bag instead of advancing to third base. Hamilton and his speed have been an integral part of the Brewers' offense despite a subpar .240/.317/.333 slash line. He has hit three homers and driven in 15 in 74 games, while stealing a team-high 18 bases.
    Jones is up for the second time this season. He appeared in 11 games and went 2-for-21. Jones has the ability to play infield, which would cover for Hamilton's absence, as well as the outfield.

    Following his signing a long-term contract extension last month, Luis Lara has been called up to make his MLB debut.
    The Brewers on Tuesday promoted Lara, Brewer Fanatic's No. 4 prospect, from Triple-A Nashville and sent center fielder Blake Perkins back to Triple-A. Lara will make his debut in Tuesday's doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers also called up left-handed starter Robert Gasser from Nashville as the extra player for the doubleheader.
    Lara, a 21-year-old switch-hitting center fielder, a seven-year, $31 million extension on June 9. He was the second top prospect at the time to ink a long-term deal with the Brewers while still in the minors, joining shortstop Cooper Pratt. Pratt, who signed his deal in April, was promoted about a week after Lara got his deal finalized.
    In his first season at Triple-A, Lara has had a breakthrough season offensively. He has a .321/.432/.470 slash line with career highs of nine homers and 42 RBIs in 78 games with still about half a season to play. Lara had never hit better than .286 (2023), hit more than four homers (2024) or driven in more than 41 runs (2024) before this year.
    Lara won a minor-league Gold Glove last year for his defense in center field and also is a speed threat on the bases, having swiped 24 in 31 tries this year.
    Perkins did not make the Brewers' Opening Day roster and has been called up twice, yet has not been able to get going offensively. Perkins has a slash line of .157/.250/.258 in 53 games with one homer, 11 RBIs and three stolen bases.

    With the unfortunate injury to right-hander Brandon Woodruff, the Milwaukee Brewers would seem to be in the market for another starting pitcher.
    With the ink barely dry on Woodruff's injured-list placement due to his continued shoulder issues, speculation is already swirling as to who the Crew should go after. One popular name is Los Angeles Angels left-hander Reid Detmers.
    In a post for FanSided, writer John Perroto throws out a potential trade for Detmers, who would fit the type of player the Brewers like to acquire. Detmers, who turns 27 on Wednesday, was a first-round pick of the Angels out of Louisville in 2020. He is making $2.625 million this year and is under team control through 2028.
    Detmers authored a no-hitter in 2022 and has a 3.08 FIP (4.13 ERA) in 18 starts, with a career-low 7.9% walk rate and 27.1% strikeout rate. His strikeout rates the last three seasons (27.9%, 30.1% and 27.1%) are trending up from his career mark of 25.9%.
    What does Perroto think it will take for the Angels to give up a prized asset? He offers up shortstop Luis Pena, catcher Jeferson Quero, right-hander Brett Wichrowski and and right-hander Patricio Aquino. Pena is Brewer Fanatic's No. 2 prospect and Quero, who had a brief MLB call-up in April, is No. 8.
    The Angels are looking to replenish their farm system and are currently in a front-office transition, having fired general manager Perry Miniasian, who has Brewers ties, and put former St. Louis Cardinals GM John Mozeliak in charge of creating a new path forward and hiring the next front-office boss (which could be himself).
    This is an interesting proposal, which also posits that Mozeliak would then spin off Angels starting catcher Logan O'Hoppe. Control of Detmers for two more seasons, plus him being a left-hander to go alongside Kyle Harrison and Shane Drohan, could make the price worth it as Wichrowski, at Triple-A Nashville after a recent promotion, and Aquino, on the 60-day injured list at Double-A Biloxi, are not Top 20 prospects.

    The balky right shoulder has landed Brandon Woodruff back on the injured list.
    The Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday placed the veteran right-handed starter on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation and called up left-handed reliever Drew Rom from Triple-A Nashville.
    Woodruff was removed from Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks with two outs in the fourth inning after an outing in which his velocity was down across the board. His four-seamer was down 7 mph and his changeup 6 mph. This was his third start since coming back from the same ailment, which sidelined the big right-hander for six weeks. Woodruff did strike out six, including the final three batters he faced, vs. the D'backs.
    The 33-year-old underwent surgery in September 2023, which forced him to miss all of 2024 and, combined with other injuries, the first three months of 2025. He returned to be a force in the Crew's rotation over 12 starts, but the shoulder acted up again near the end of the regular season, sidelining him for the postseason. He made six starts to begin this season before going on the IL on May 1.
    Rom is up for the second time with the Brewers this year. He has appeared in four games and 5⅓ innings, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks with 10 strikeouts for a 3.38 ERA.

    One of the most electric pitchers in MLB and one of the top two-way catchers will represent the Milwaukee Brewers in the All-Star Game.
    Right-handed starter Jacob Misiorowski and catcher William Contreras were selected to the All-Star Game, which will be played July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. It is the second appearance for Misiorowski, who debuted just weeks before the 2025 game, while Contreras is going for the third time and second with the Brewers. He also went in 2024.
    Misiorowski is a far cry from a controversial pick this year and has an outside chance to start this year's game, although he is currently scheduled to pitch the Sunday before the All-Star Game. The Miz leads MLB with a 1.47 ERA and 156 strikeouts and has a shutout in his 17 starts and 104 innings. He has a 6.8% walk rate and an amazing 39.3% strikeout rate.
    Contreras has a slash line of .293/.358/.416 while playing virtually every day with nine homers and 51 RBIs. His .293 batting average is the highest of his seven-year career. He has made the All-Star Game every other year since becoming an MLB regular in 2022 with Atlanta.
    The nine starters for each team were determined by two rounds of fan balloting, with Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Ernie Clement getting automatically selected to start by virtue of leading the first round in the NL and AL, respectively.
    The 23 reserves, which includes 12 pitchers as that position is not up for voting, are selected by player voting and the Commissioner's Office, which ensures that each team has a representative in the game.

    A recent addition to the Milwaukee Brewers' bullpen has been sidelined for at least two weeks.
    Right-handed reliever Joel Kuhnel was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday by the Brewers due to a right shoulder impingement. Right-handed reliever Craig Yoho was called up from Triple-A Nashville. Also, right-handed starter Coleman Crow, on the 15-day IL with a strained right forearm flexor, began a rehab assignment at Nashville on Saturday.
    Kuhnel, acquired June 6 from the A's after he was designated for assignment, has appeared in 10 games for the Brewers and posted a 6.52 ERA over 9⅔ innings. He has walked six and struck out eight while allowing a .317 opponent batting average, including four home runs. Kuhnel's last game was Thursday in the series finale against the Cincinnati Reds in which he gave up three runs (two earned) on one hit and two walks with a strikeout in one inning.
    Yoho is up with the Crew for the third time this year. He has pitched six innings over five games, giving up four runs on five hits, including two homers, with three walks and eight strikeouts for 6.00 ERA.

    Baseball's No. 1 prospect is heading to the Futures Game. And he is bringing along a buddy.
    Shortstop Jesus Made, Brewer Fanatic's No. 1 prospect and the consensus top prospect in baseball, and shortstop Luis Pena, Brewer Fanatic's No. 2 prospect, will represent the Milwaukee Brewers in the July 12 Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The Brewers have the top farm system in baseball by most outlets.
    Made, who turned 19 in May, is having a terrific season with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers. The switch-hitter has a .281/.355/.441 slash line with seven homers, 51 RBIs and 23 stolen bases in 67 games. Made has rocketed through the Brewers' system. After spending 2024 in the Dominican Summer League, he came to the U.S. and began 2025 at Low-A Carolina for 83 games, then went up to High-A Wisconsin for 27 and spent five games with Double-A Biloxi to wrap up a tremendous year in full-season ball.
    He had a .285/.379/.413 slash line, hitting six homers and driving in 61 while stealing 47 bases in 60 attempts.
    Pena spent most of that time as Made's running mate until starting this season back with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Pena has played shortstop at Wisconsin with Made not being on the same roster and putting together a .318/.431/.432 slash line with one homer and 13 RBIs in 26 games. Pena missed a month after a late-April incident that saw him rushed to a hospital after passing out in the dugout during a game. It was determined to have resulted from Pena becoming overheated. Pena also missed two weeks in June.
    Made is one of 19 No. 1 prospects who will be representing their teams at the Futures Game.

    With 17 games in 17 days, you knew there would be moves to keep the Milwaukee Brewers' bullpen fresh. This one, though, has more of an odd feel to it.
    The Brewers on Tuesday optioned left-handed starter Robert Gasser to the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and selected the contract of right-handed starter Garrett Stallings from Triple-A Nashville. The Brewers had an opening on their 40-man roster to accommodate Stallings' promotion for his MLB debut.
    Gasser had a solid outing in Monday's series opening against the Cincinnati Reds, going 5⅔ and giving up three runs on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts. The move to the ACL generally indicates a team giving a player a break to get some planned rest. Gasser is in his first full MLB season following Tommy John surgery at the beginning of the 2024 season. Combined with his minor-league time, Gasser threw just 43⅔ regular-season innings. He currently is at 62⅔ innings this year between Nashville and the Brewers just past the midpoint of the season.
    In seven MLB starts this year, Gasser has a 4.98 FIP (4.54ERA) with an 8.4% walk rate and 23.4% strikeout rate.
    Stallings is a 28-year-old who was drafted in 2019 in the fifth round by the Los Angeles Angels. He was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in May 2024 in a minor trade and has been at Nashville since. This year in 12 starts and four relief appearances, Stallings has a 3.45 ERA in 62⅔ innings, walking 22 and striking out 59. He will provide another length option for the Brewers, possibly even making a spot start.

    The Milwaukee Brewers have their reliable lefty back in the bullpen.
    Left-handed reliever Jared Koenig was activated off the 15-day injured list Friday by the Brewers, who optioned right-handed reliever Craig Yoho to Triple-A Nashville.
    Koenig had been out since April 6 with a sprained left elbow. He had made just three appearances before being injured, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 2⅓ innings. Koenig appeared in 11 games on his rehab assignment, pitching 9⅔ innings.
    Yoho, once considered a big-time relief prospect, has wavered at the MLB level. In two call-ups this year, Yoho appeared in five games, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in six innings for a 6.00 ERA. He made his MLB debut last season, appearing in eight games and posting a 7.27 ERA in 8⅔ innings with nine walks and seven punchouts.

    The return of Brandon Woodruff is official.
    The Milwaukee Brewers on Monday activated the right-hander to start the series opener against the Cincinnati Reds. Left-handed reliever Drew Rom was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. Woodruff has been on the 15-day injured list since May 1 due to right shoulder inflammation.
    The 33-year-old veteran, the oldest player on a very young starting rotation, will be making his seventh start of the season. In the prior six, he has logged 30 innings with seven walks and 25 strikeouts. Woodruff is four strikeouts away from 900 for his career.
    Rom was called up June 6 and made four appearances, going 5⅓ innings with a 3.38 ERA with four walks and 10 strikeouts.

    The expected bad news is now official: Quinn Priester's season is over.
    The Milwaukee Brewers' right-handed starter will have surgery to repair his thoracic outlet syndrome. Priester told reporters Thursday that he will have surgery Monday. Priester is expected to miss eight to 10 months, meaning the early portion of that timeline would have him completely healthy in spring training.
    Priester was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome in spring training and had tried a number of things in an attempt to return to the mound. Priester pitched in eight minor-league games on rehab assignments, including the last two in the Arizona Complex League.
    "I'm excited because this is a plan forward," Priester said.
    Priester was a revelation after being acquired by the Brewers in April 2025. Picked up in a trade with the Boston Red Sox when the Brewers were desperate for starting pitching, Priester, who had been at Triple-A with Boston, jumped right into the major-league rotation and went 13-3 with a 4.01 FIP (3.32 ERA), walking 7.7% of batters and striking out 20.2%

    Yoho has been Yo-Yo'd. It comes at Coleman Crow's expense.
    The Milwaukee Brewers on Friday placed Crow, a right-handed starter, on the 15-day injured list with a strained right forearm flexor and recalled right-handed reliever Craig Yoho from Triple-A Nashville. Yoho had been optioned to Nashville on Monday to make room for recently acquired right-handed reliever Joel Kuhnel.
    But the bigger news is Crow. who made a two-inning relief appearance Tuesday in a 7-4 loss to the A's in Las Vegas. He allowed one hit and one walk in an otherwise clean performance after making a short start five days earlier against the San Francisco Giants. In that game, Crow lasted just 2⅓ innings, getting tagged for six runs on nine hits and two walks while fanning a pair. Crow has made five appearances this season (just the one in relief), including his MLB debut, posting a 4.55 FIP (5.30 ERA) with a 7.1% walk rate and 11.8% strikeout rate.
    Yoho was called up a week ago today for the road series against the Colorado Rockies and appeared in two games, giving up a solo homer and three walks while striking out five in three innings as he made his season debut with the Crew.
    The Brewers' rotation is set for this week, with veteran right-hander Brandon Woodruff expected to be activated off the 15-day IL for the Cleveland Guardians series.
