  1. Coco and his frizzby slider do us in again. He has been very below average since that streak of 22-24 consecutive saves was snapped. And for the comment regarding scoring late runs....when you score 6 runs you should win...period. Your closer can't come in and routinely give up 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose games. This is not on the offense it is squarely on Cordero's shoulders.
  2. 37 minutes until game time and no lineup posted yet....could that mean something is possibly up??
  3. Mr. Yost if Tony is able to get him to third you MUST pinch hit for Weeks.
  4. 1 start maybe 2.....anyone have any idea? Do we have any medical experts among us?
  5. Offical word from the Brewers clubhouse a Distal (spelling?) finger sprain for Sheets.
  6. I too thought it was more than a blister, but there is the chance that Wright was just trying to put pressure on the finger to simulate the pressure of releasing the baseball. As a golfer when I have a blister on my hand I press it to measure the pain to try and simulate the pressure through the ball of the golf swing. I didn't think it looked like a blister, but it could have been. Let's hope so.
  7. Can we please see Graffanino at 2nd base for a few days. I am so tired of watch Weeks look like a AA player vs. terrible pitching.
  8. Guys (and Girls), Can you help to give me the low-down on autograph Fridays. My wife and son (5-month old) are heading to Milwaukee next Thursday and will be at the Giants game on Friday. Dad will be on a business trip to Hawaii....and I know this sounds weird, but I am actually a little jealous of them. Mom wants to bring a Brewer onesey to the game and have the players autograph it so we can frame it. What time do they typically start the autograph session? Is it in the stadium? Do they publish who will be signing that Friday, ahead of time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  9. If Cappy doesn't pitch well against that lineup today we have some real problems. Here's to Cappy turning it around today and pitching like the guy who made the first 7 starts of the season.
  10. At some point Yost has to start giving Tony G some starts at second base. Rickie is completely killing us right now. I am about as confident with him at the plate as I am with one of our pitchers.
  11. How about we just support him and hope he does well. He's a young kid who is going to get a shot to play for a few weeks and we'll see how he does. Whether it's Gross, Gwynn, or Mench let's just hope they go out each day and help this team win games. If Gwynn can get on base at a .370 or so, along with his defense and speed he will help this club. Go get them Tony and Gabe...and hurry back Billy! I'm not trying to be the rah rah guy, but the decention on this board for some players and the love of some players (Keith Ginter????) is somewhat disturbing.
  12. With CoCo leaving next year (almost a certainty) does anyone else think Carlos could be a great closer for us potentially next year. He doesn't have traditional closer stuff, but neither does Trevor Hoffman, a pitcher I think Carlos is a lot like. I would love him in the rotation too, but I think he would be a pretty solid and cheap option to close games. He seems to have the mentality for it as well, unlike someone like Turnbow.
  13. Ethridge is on the mound right now (Monday) on ESPN 2. So far 3IP 1 er (solo homer).
  14. I did not have the pleasure of doing so this past season during spring training, but the past two seasons my wife and I have had the pleasure of talking with Billy for several minutes, and just from those couple of minutes my opinion of him is that he is the furthest thing from arrogant. Both times he was extremely curtious and more than willing to chat it up for a couple of minutes. He really seemed to be a very nice young man and that has made it really easy to root for him since his rookie year. As for the homeruns.....who doesn't watch them. Prince does the same thing. When you make that good of contact with the ball your natural instinct is to watch it for a second or two. It's the same in golf. Watch Tiger when he knows he hits that shot he wants...he twirls the club after his follow through. It's not intentional or in attempt to show up the game or his fellow competitors, it is just a natural instinct when you know you have done something really well.
  15. Does anyone think Parra has a real shot of joining the Crew's pen sometime this year. Mass or Colby, do you guys have an insight on whether or not the Brewer's brass see him as a starter or a reliever in the future. I seem to remember some S.T. statements that they see him as more of a bullpen guys. With his ability to strike people out and with Shouse really struggling I think he would be a solid option sooner rather than later....that is unless they want to keep him as a starter.
  16. Personally I think it is really hard to say. At this point the only two you can project IMO are Yo and Parra. Yo's numbers are actually a little better than Sheets' numbers at AAA if I recall, but I haven't seen Yo pitch so I can't speak to his stuff like others here probably can. If I had to guess right now I would say Yo would be a little under Sheets, mainly because I to think that when right Sheeter is a top 10 pitcher in baseball. Parra I think projects in line with Capuano. I think Parra's stuff may be a little better (I believe he throws a little harder 91-93) but he hasn't pitched at a level higher than AA. He also seems to walk a few guys much in the same mold as Chris. For me, trying to project Jeffress, Inman and Rogers is just too tough. They are all very young and haven't pitched at a level higher than A+ ball. So many things can happen between now and 3 years from now when realistically any of the three get their first look at the show (maybe two years from now if Inman keeps progressing so well).
  17. Sheeter is dealing tonight. Hitting 94-96 on the gun regularily and the curve is nasty. Get some hits boys!
  18. Sorry I am listening to the other game..is Rickie being allowed to swing in todays game. I have been watching the gameday for the Oakland game and in his last to AB's he has "popped to SS" and struck out swinging. Is he being allowed to swing or are those just really bad bunt attempts?
  19. Brian, I own a golf reservation wholesale company in Las Vegas (hence LVBrewerFan) and I was wondering what it would cost to possibly put a link to our website on the front page of Brewerfan.net and if you would be interested in doing so. I have never brought it up prior to this because there was never anything resembling advertising on the front page, but over the last six months I have noticed that you have added a little bit. Another factor that peeked my interest a little is that there always seems to be questions about Las Vegas in the Off-topic forum. Obviously if you were interested I would need to see some site information (hit/traffic info, demographic info if that is available...i'm not sure if it is or not) and would need to talk it over with my partner. Let me know if you would be interested at all (if not no problem I understand) and what you think it would take. Thanks for your time! LV
  20. Do I win anything for putting us over the top??? Just kidding! Brian (and to all other contributors) thanks for maintaining this site and keeping us Brewer Fans up to date with the latest and greatest information. The donation is the least I can do to say thank you! LV
  21. Man I am sorry, but I love the way Miller dropped the ball in Dunn's face. As it was said in Remember the Titans about Ronny Sunshine Bass "That's on bad white boy!"
  22. Peavey come on. To put Turnbow's problems on the catchers is just ridiculous. The guy can't throw the breaking pitch for a strike and the fastball is either right down the middle or way out of the zone. He simply cannot locate anything he throws. Not to mention that his fastball is as straight as a string. He threw one "good" breaking pitch the entire inning and that was the strikeout on the bunt attempt. The breaking pitch to Bonds wasn't even close to a strike. Bonds was sitting dead red on the fastball and was fooled. He looked embarrassed at the plate.
  23. Words cannot explain my hatred for Derrick Turnblow. How many more times will we have to watch this clown trot out in the 9th to lose the game for us. This guy flat out sucks....enough already. You want to make a statement Ned, send this clown to Triple A and let Wise close. Honestly could he be any worse?
  24. This is just Doug Davis being Doug Davis.
