  1. FutureBrewer, Fox Sports North is doing Operation Home Base this week, with tonight the players wearing hats representing the 4 branches of military services. During the Twins broadcast (on Directv) there are no commercials they are doing links between soldiers in Iraq and there families. A big hats off to the Twins organization and FSN for what they are doing this entire week. A total class move IMO. The Milwaukee Brewers Bullpen, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on a nightly basis!
  2. Honestly is there anyone in this bullpen aside from Turnbow you want to see back next year. I am sure Wise will be back, but I can not stand any member of this bullpen outside of DBow. And that play at the plate was inpressive to say the least. Jenks with a 2 hop throw from deep 2nd base and Moeller forgot the ball that still beat the runner. And know Jose Crapellan doing what he does best....pitch batting practice.
  3. Your Milwaukee Brewers Bullpen, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on a nightly basis! It is scary that with the exception of Turnbow the only name I like to hear coming from the pen is Gonzalez.
  4. I realize Sarfate has control issues, but at least the kid has big league stuff. Hendrickson has a straight as a string fastball, a curveball that he can't throw for a strike and control issues. Let's give someone else a shot already.
  5. Corey was removed from the game tonight, but to my wife's untrained eye had absolutely nothing wrong with him. Krynzel replaced him in the outfield. The redeye to Milwaukee on Midwest does leave Vegas at 11:59 local time. That would be just about right in my estimation.
  6. The frame?s first run scored when a Sarfate wild pitch on a Joel Guzman strikeout allowed Duncan to trot home Wow...what a complete and utter incorrect way of describing that play. I have been at all three games and will post some thoughts and pictures sometime tomorrow....but I had to chime in after reading that. Sarfate loaded the bases and then struckout Loney on a mean slider/curve (not sure which one from my angle) that skipped past Rivera. Rivera scrambled back to get it and with Dennis covering home, Mike underhanded the ball while slidding away from home perfectly to Dennis who tagged the runner on the foot. The guy was dead to rights at home and the umpire (the same guy that blew two calls in game one in the same fashion) called him safe. Kremblas came flying out of the dugout to argue the call. Saying the runner trotted home on a wild pitch is not even close to correct.
  7. Rogers has done absolutely nothing to justify a first round draft choice in his 1.5 years of minor league service. I don't care how hard he throws, he gets hit and walks far to many batters. While everyone is anxious to give the kid the benefit of the doubt because he is young, he has done nothing but throw the ball hard to deserve that break.
  8. The Crew are on Directv channel 640 this afternoon against the Sox. My day of work just got a little better!
  9. Like I said, I know it is dumb that I feel that way, but I don't get why the kid can't start once out of every 5-7 games. Let O start the majority of them but give Prince the occasional bone. I am not at this time or never have, been advacating Prince starting every game or even the majority of the time.
  10. Another day another day of Prince on the bench. I know its not his fault but I am really starting not to like Overbay because of Yost's reluctance to play Prince once in a while. I know that sounds dumb, but I am really becoming angry.
  11. Honestly, has Lyle Overbay been that critical to recent successes that Prince couldn't at least get one start per week. I don't believe the kid has started a game since being called back up, has he? Why not let the kid get his feet wet a little. Like another poster mentioned, I don't think the drop of would be that severe, if there were a drop off at all.
  12. I am not saying that his whole career will end up this way, so don't jump all over me, but Mark Rogers has been flat out been terrible this year. I don't care about radar gun readings, I want results and this kid hasn't produced much since the day he was drafted.
  13. Does anyone remember when Davis used to work ahead in the counts? Memo to DD, strike one is a pitchers best pitch.
  14. That's funny Huntsville fan, I have been thinking the same thing for quite some time now, although I would like to see what he could do in a couple of starts between now and the end of the year for the big club. I am not saying he takes the ball every five days for the Crew, but maybe he could steal a couple of Okha starts between now and the first of October. He seems to have big league stuff and does anyone really believe Ohka is going to be a Brewer next year?
  15. What a great shot of Lee pumping his fists at home after watching Miller leg that hit out. Also as disappointing (if you are a Mets fan) is a look at the effort their $19 million dollar man made on Helms double.
  16. Tell me that swing by McGruder didn't remind you of the first hit of the year (in his first at bat) by Willie Mays Hayes in Major League. You know when he hits it and goes oopps.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  17. I am sorry, but Lyle Overbay is the worst defensive first baseman I have ever seen. He is just aweful with the glove.
  18. I got to be honest with you guys, the hole lemur thing is starting to freak me out a little. Am I the only one??
  19. This should probably go in the non-game thread but Matt Clement just took a line drive off of his temple. He was out cold for 2 or so minutes from what I understand, but I have not seen it yet.
  20. Kraft thanks for the first hand accounts. Keep them coming if you are atttending throughout the weekend as they are greatly appreciated!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  21. Not sure if any of you are aware of this but Kerry Wood left the Cubs/Reds game after just 3 innings of work tonight. What a shocker! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  22. Dana is fulfilling the Man-Crush I have had on him for the past year and 1/2. He looks really good out there and he seems to have a great knack for getting strike one to start hitters off.
  23. Taking a look at the lineups for tonights game makes one think that if we don't get it tonight we may not take a game in the series. No Edmonds and no Walker. We still have to get around Rolen and Pujols, but the lineup looks managable.
  24. Does anyone think Carlos made a huge mistake in not taking Obermueller with him to Detroit to throw to him in the HR Derby?? I will smile when this guy is gone for good.
  25. Honestly, Hall hit the ball hard. I can't fault him for that he just hit it right at someone. Tough luck, no need to call for his head.
