  1. I don't even know what to say anymore
  2. That is completely and utterly false. I'd like you to find ONE person on this site that was calling for Turnbow to come in for the ninth. Uhhh, I never said anyone was calling for Turnbow to come in.
  3. Uhhh. I hope you're not serious. The Cubs have had a pretty cupcake schedule thus far...only 6 road games against Pitt and Philly, the rest home games against the Astros, Pitt, Reds, and now the Mets. On top of that it is really really early.
  4. If he puts in Riske and he gives up the run, you guys are asking why Turnbow isn't in there. Anything Yost does, you guys criticize. Place the blame on Turnbow; the guy who gave up the run. So what if he hasn't pitched in a while, this was his chance to prove he belonged on the team with a pretty tired rest of the bullpen. He didn't get the job done, and I hope to not see him for a while in the bigs. Send him down to AAA to figure it out. He was a closer so he has been in plenty of these situations before and should get the job done, regardless of how long it's been since he pitched.
  5. The problem is, it's really hard to be effective when you never get to pitch. I'm not saying he's good, but the coaching staff isn't even giving him a chance to succeed. Stop it...please stop it. He is a professional that lost opportunities because he did things just like tonight. terrible. At least someone here is placing the blame correctly.
  6. We've used basically everyone in our bullpen over the last day or two. There really wasn't another option. Maybe Riske, but he was pretty shakey his last time out too.
  7. I guess I really cannot see how you guys are blaming this on Ned.
  8. wow....way to make them work for their hits and runs. throwing them right down the pipe is usually the best tactic at holding a tie.
  9. Get over the loss already. You people are ripping Yost like he just blew the entire season. Yes, it was a frustrating loss but it's only April and he's still trying to get to know the limits of his new closer. If this had been a loss in September then the "Yosted" talk may be appropriate. Also, it's not like Maddux and Gagne were pleading "Please, do not put Gagne in for the fourth straight day!! He can't handle anymore pitching!" Everyone probably felt he would be alright to go another day and it just wasn't the case. Oh well; this stuff happens.
  10. Wooo! I'm starting to get comfortable with Gagne now which is a really good feeling!
  11. These Reds fans are obnoxious...
  12. How does Griffey not hit that 5th pitch out of the park? edit: i meant 5th
  13. Whether or not those outside corner pitches are strikes, you gotta at least try and fight it off and get another pitch, because you know he's been very liberal with the corners.
  14. seriously, lets complain about every single call. it clearly hit him right on the wrist. if it hit off the bat, i don't think he would've dropped it like he did.
  15. These Reds need to just shut their mouths. Brewers complain a little, but then walk away and let it be. Reds just keep goin' on and on. Brian and Bill are right though, they are complaining about the exact same pitch; one thinking it should be a strike, one thinking it should be a ball.
  16. Wow, this ump is sucking it up. It's pretty tough on the hitters when he calls pitches in the exact same spot a ball and then a strike on the very next pitch. Hart and Fielder still gotta be swinging though because were or were very very close to strikes.
  17. get the stat guys working to see how many times that's happened before.
  18. Wow...what a great win. Lets hope this starts some momentum!
  19. It was just out of this reach and it didn't really allow for an extra base. It was also clear it was gonna bounce off the wall if he missed it, so he had time to get up. So I would say... it wasn't inappropriate.
  20. wow....how in the world do we come out of that inning unscathed? nice stab by Prince
  21. goody...no outs, runners on the corners, and meat of the order coming up
  22. Way to let Perez off the hook offense edit: wow, look at where that called strike on Kapler is on gameday
  23. Perez is not lookin' so good today thus far. lets tack on some runs!
