    NCAA Squares

Thanks again to those of you who have signed up thus far! Down to 8 slots remaining if anyone is still interested.

    NCAA Squares

A few folks have signed up - thanks! I am under 40 squares remaining if anyone else is interested in giving it a try.
  3. I am on a couple smaller schools today. Marist and Canisius. May do Manhattan and Xavier too.
  4. Yuck. Just a bit off on Minnesota. Back to the board for today.
  5. Go Minnesota tonight. Love the spot as a home dog with UM having a big matchup on tap.

    NCAA Squares

Great question. A few years back, I was considering canceling the pool just due to the time I put into it. Anyway, my friend suggested adding a dollar to the fee - mainly for time, but also for the people who needed me to snail-mail their winnings. $101 seemed dumb, so we went to $105 and I send the $4 from each entry goes to charity. It's kind of a win-win that way. I actually thought a bunch of folks would cancel when I added the $5, but now I have even more interest. So much, that I have two pools this year (200 total squares between them), the first is filled and I have about 50 left on the second. I am totally fine having people PM me if interested. It really is a lot of fun. To summarize, you get a winning team number and a losing team number for each square. You win if you match - so if you had 8 and 5, you would win any game that matches that number (78-75, 68-55), but not the other way around (75-68). I pay out on every game other than the play-in games with the payout getting higher with each round. I pay everything out for the pools outside of the administrative/charity portion, so 10K comes gets paid with 4K being the top prize (not bad for a $105 investment). Thank you for responding. I appreciate it. I really want to be respectful of rules here. Typically I just read what everyone writes, but occasionally will have something to say. Go the Brewers (as I like to say on Twitter)!
  7. Please let me know if not allowed, but I thought I would check. I run an NCAA squares pool each year. $105 entry and $4K top prize. If it's allowed, I will share more details to see if there is interest. This is my 10th year running it and I have two 100-square grids this year.
  8. Big fan of sports investing here. I like the Duke Under (got 165 on my end) and Wash St. +4.5 tonight. Baseball is my favorite. I have a friend (and this is no joke), he has only seen one Brewers loss if he has been at the game. I went to 15 games with him between '07 and '12 and they never lost. It was awesome and I don't usually bet to streaks like that. His one loss was in 2017. I told him I need to get back to seeing games with him!
  9. In case anyone is interested, here is what I have. I had a few others, but a friend took them off my hands yesterday. Yes, there is a Chipper Jones bobble in there too. If I find more as I unpack, I will update the list. 10. Working on a list today for everyone who asked and PM'd me. Thank you all for the input. More to come.
  11. I think I would do cartwheels if I got $250 for them all. Ha ha. I just noticed the other post regarding values for Brewers and their affiliate bobbles. Are those prices fairly on point if I were to sell individually?
  12. Been a long time since I have been on this site - life gets in the way sometimes I guess. Quick question, I recently got married and moved and I have about 10 years worth of bobbles that I recently unpacked. Does anyone have suggestions on how to sell them? Nearly all were only opened once, but were never out of the box. I plan to keep a few of the unique ones, but all in all, I have around 100 to sell (all Brewers). Any suggestions are appreciated and I apologize in advance if this is a repeat topic. I will do some digging just in case.
  13. Here is my team name from the past couple years - "Who Wants a Listach Ride". Some other good ones I have seen: Gamel Toe Tony Plush Crush Pee Hands Alou The Herpe Hammer (awful - and it was a Brewers fan who used it) Sorry if any of these are too crude for the site.
  14. Thanks for all the advice everyone. Very helpful! I really appreciate all the responses. I am going to work on narrowing it down. If it weren't for those lousy baseball games I like so much, I probably would have made a decision already.
  15. HACK20 I have the M plates with MENCC. My son's name is Carsten Charles.
  16. Oh no, I would never want to talk about illegal ways to obtain the games! I did figure there had to be a way though. More research to come I guess. Thanks for the additional links!
  17. I have had U-Verse or DTV for about 10 years now and am thinking of cutting the cable. I know I can get MLBTV and see all the road games I want, but was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to stream all games as needed. I was also curious to see anyone had any thoughts on Roku vs. Apple TV. I have an iPhone so I was leaning towards ATV...just getting tired of being tied to the whole Apple ecosystem. Any advice from anyone who has gone down this path is greatly appreciated. Positives, negatives, differences, etc... Thank you for any recommendations and I apologize if this is a duplicate topic.
  18. I was at the game where the vouchers were handed out, but never received one myself. Did they ever wind up selling these? If not, does anyone feel like burning a copy for me? Obviously, I would pay - in cash and/or beer. My son was born in 2008, so the season holds a lot of special memories for me.
  19. I am so pumped for today! The energy and the volume is going to be 10X more than Game 1 and 2. I can't wait to feel it and be part of it. You can bet I will be standing and cheering (while being respectful to those around me). Go Brewers! This is your time and this is our time!
  20. I was in the preferred lot for both games (Brewers 1) and the biker patrol stopped by about an hour afterwards. They were polite as were we. They told us to be gone by the 90 minute mark. After 90 minutes, they came by again and we were just about done packing up. Again, they were very polite. I have no problem with 90 minutes as most of the gridlock has evaporated by then. The first time I noticed the bike patrol was on Friday when they clinched.
  21. I've heard that from a bunch of my friends and family. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Plus, I hate the Yankees, so now it's worse. Anyway, I'm also German and Carsten means "Christian" in German...or so I am told.
  22. My son (born September of 2008) is named Carsten Charles. Charles is my middle name and my dad's first name. It seemed like destiny. I call him CC, which seems only fitting.
  23. I would also be interested in ordering one by mail.
  24. There was a pretty big incident over by me after the game. Someone threw a table in front of some cars leaving and then refused to move it. Someone got out of their car to move it and the people who threw it there were quite logically (or not) upset. After being slighted in this manner, one of the more clever individuals (who appeared to be pretty deep into his cups) from this group decided to stand in front of the cars while he finished consuming his mug of beer. This didn't go well and the driver made the next regrettable decision by driving ahead directly into the guy. The guy climbed the hood while the driver floored it. After falling off the hood, the driver got out and was soundly beaten around the head and back by the Mr. Mug. The passenger attempted to intervene and was also punched repeatedly for his trouble. The fighting subsided, however not to be outdone, Mr. Mug kicked the car a few times and also managed to kick the side mirror from the passenger side of the car. He then took off running. The cops never showed (I had called them) and the car left without further incident. All in all, it was pretty scary. Someone managed to tape it all on camera...oh and Mr. Mug dropped his hat. Some random guy picked it up and remarked "free hat, awesome" before leaving. Quite the spectacle, I must say. I might have to start heading to the game after Opening Day from here on out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  25. Any current Cubs or Yankees (except CC). Especially A-Rod.
