If Priester and Woody aren't hurt for all or most of the year is Sproat in the majors? Would he have been better served with another year of development or at least half a year of development in the minors?

So are you now saying that the Mets rushed Ewing? Because that wasn't your tune back in May. I also kind of doubt that an extra 6 weeks turned the lightbulb on for him. His xwOBA increased by only .006 by the time he was called up. He was who he was, 6 weeks would not have been rushing him.

It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out. I get the impression that the Brewers organization does not view council with the same benedict arnold colored glasses that the fan base does. Probably because being in the industry they have a slightly more mercenary view of moves between organizations.

DId anyone watch the Reds Cubs game. Did one of the announcers quote counsel as saying essentially there's no shame in losing the division to a 100 win team? The investment in facilities in Arizona and in Latin America are a big part of the reason the team is so competitive. I guess people can think that not spending big in free agency makes Mark A cheap, but it actually seems to be somewhat of a competitive advantage in that we aren't tied down to playing unproductive players like Rhys Hoskins and Rengifo and instead can go out and get guys like Vaughn and Bauer and bring up young talented players like Pratt. The Reds and the Pirates both made big free agent splashes this year, how did it work out for them? I really don't understand anyone who thinks Mark A is cheap. It didn't sound like money concerns were going to keep them from getting Skubal. What more do people want?

The Dodger owner is likely to be indicted any day. Literally the second Dodger owner in a row to be indicted. You'd think baseball would be able to find better owners for one of their flagship franchises.

I guess Murphy will need to win a 3rd manager of the year award before we can consider him a "good" manager.

Leo Rivas is quickly becoming a Brewer legend despite never playing for us. That game was quite upsetting the 8th and 9th innings but it couldn't have played out much better for us other than going another 3-4 extra innings.

Actually Alvarez after he won back to back Rose Bowls thought that the program was on par with all the other national powers and tried to recruit 5 stars and modernize the offense. It backfired on him and they suffered some down years until he realized he had to go back to what worked in the first place. So the Barry Alvarez example might be more of an cautionary tale of staying the course rather than changing things up.

Why would they, he's got a 732 OPS in AAA. He's a below average hitter in AAA. No reason to bring him up.

This is an odd position to take for a Brewers fan given how much they are succeeding despite not being great in some of the categories you think are all that matter. Brewers are 3rd in runs scored which is really the most important measure of an offense. They are 5th in average, 3rd in OBP, 28th in HRs, 22cnd in Slug. Among qualified second basemen Turang is 10th in BA, Second in OBP(.001 behind XAvier Edwards), 6th in HR and second in slugging. Turang is going to get paid. He's not taking a discount. He's not signing an extension with the Brewers before free agency. Those are the facts.

According to Fangraphs Turang is 3rd in the majors in WAR for second basemen. Do you really think he's going to accept a low(er)ball contract extension just because he's had a small slump over a few weeks? I think we all need to accept the fact that Turang is not going to sign an extension. He's going to hit free agency as soon as he can. He will in all likelihood sign a big deal with some other team. The Brewers undoubtedly realize this which is why they put money into extending Pratt and Lara rather than saving that money to spend on the mythical Turang extension.
