  1. This surgery is normally several hours long depending on the severity of the aortic root involvement. My feeling is it would probably be late afternoon or even the broadcast tonight before any news is given.
  2. As a nurse practitioner the question of do an MRI vs not is a daily issue. I agree that cost is much less of an issue for the Brewers than it is for my patients. But the problem with all imaging is, when there is significant swelling or inflammation in the area the scan could be less receptive to damage and thus pointless. I do not know if this is the case in Gamels situation or not but it is a possible explanation. Ultimately, injuries in athletes is a very difficult situation. I know the pressure we get in primary care to get/keep these high school and college athletes on the field. I cannot imagine what it is like in the pros.
  3. I tried to get tickets this AM to the May series between the Crew and the Twins in Minnesota and found that they were only available in a season ticket plan. Anyone know the story behind this? Seems like a poor way to get fans from Wisconsin to come up for the series (maybe they don't care with the new stadium). I checked Stub Hub and bleacher tickets were already going for nearly $40. Any wisdom is appreciated.
  4. Milltown, I was at the game yesterday and Parra scuffled a little in the first but looked very good after that. Really in the first he made one mistake and had some good pitches hit. He looked very sharp in his bullpen session before the game as well. It was nice that I could stand about 4 feet away to watch. i think there is about a zero percent chance they trade him with the stuff he has. Remember he is a "young" lefty. Bush looked pretty Bushlike as well. Lovin' ST eventough the weather kind of blows.
  5. The Brewers may be thinking globally on this one. The 4 hour game when Davis pitches will definitely improve concession sales.
  6. Thats not the point. You can't make these guys do anything. if he does not want to do it he is going to suck at it and it will be a useless move and we will end up with another Bill Hall disaster. Plus Melvin has siad it won't be done so why does it keep coming up? I love the hot stove as much as anyone else but we have to come up with another idea!
  7. 1. Lopez 2B 2. Escobar SS 3. Braun LF 4. Fielder 1B 5. Weeks CF 6. McGhee/Gamel 3B platoon 7. Hart RF 8. Rivera/Salome/Lucroix C Can we please stop with the platoon talk? Brewer fans in general have become way too comfortable with platoons at major positions. The fact of the matter is good teams do not platoon with the minor exception being catcher because it is a very difficult position to play every day. I will not be ok with McGehee and Gamel platooning next year because developmentally it does neither any good. If Gamel is not the everyday third baseman next year he needs to be in Nashville or flipped for pitching. The reason he performed less than expected at AAA this year is because he did not have the opportunity to get into any sort of rhythm because of his call up. As for CF can we please put the Weeks thing to bed? He doesn't want to play there and the organization doesn't want him out there. They are either going to trade Weeks or let Lopez walk for the picks (more likely).
  8. I admit that up until the All-star break I was a Jason Kendall supporter. I have since joined the opinion that he should be allowed to leave after the season. However, I don't believe that Mike Rivera is the answer either. Everyone jumped on his bandwagon last year after a few big hits in 62 ABs. I think we have seen the real Rivera this year and that is not much if at all better than Kendall. There is a reason why he is 33 years old and not a starter. I would be more than happy to have him as a back up next year, but we need to bring in a veteran next year to bridge the gap to the young guys in the minors. Any thoughts?
  9. What would people think about 6/127mil ? Heard second hand but comes from source inside MP.
