  1. Great googly moogly! This year's AFL is loaded with former 1st rounders and top prospects. I'm tempted to take a vaca to Arizona and get a glimpse of Strasburg, but I'll probably settle for MLB TV.
  2. I'm still enjoying myself. I think the Brewers are underachieving a bit, but at least the team is still competitive. The Brewers had a magical playoff run and C.C. was amazing last year. I know Sheets gets a lot of crap for having a poor health history, but IMO he still was one of the top 15-20 starting pitchers in baseball. Losing those two guys was a dagger to the heart for our playoff chances. I thought the expectations of the Brewers making the playoffs with the players that we have were unrealistic. However, we have a good, young core of players to build around (Braun, Easy-E, Fielder, and Gallardo). I love September because it gives us a small taste of the future. We've loaded up on pitching in the past few drafts, and with some luck, they could be ready to help our pitching problems in a few years. Now is the time when the line divides true brewer fans from the bandwagoners. We have to be patient. We're not a big market franchise. I think our best chance to be successful is having our young guns in the minors develop into studs.
  3. Strasburg finally signs! ESPN reports 4 years, more than 15 mil. Good for Washington.
  4. Andrew McCutchen has 5 triples through his first 17 games of his career. A nice start to his career.
  5. Is the Big A off to Helena?
  6. I think Andrew McCutchen will win the NL ROY. McCutchen is one of the most exciting players to watch that the Pirates have had in years. He reminds me of Kenny Lofton. Hopefully, he can put some people in the seats at PNC. I'm sick of watching games at that beautiful park with barely anyone in the seats.
  7. I just saw highlights of Andrew McCutchen's two triples and that dude can fly. That man is scary on the bases http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  8. Herron must of untucked his jersey during a game. The Cardinals love those types of gestures http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. In his last outing against Ft. Meyers, Jeffress went 7 innings with no earned runs, striking out 7, and allowing only 2 hits. The best stat of all is that he did not walk a batter. Lets hope he can build upon this performance. GO JEREMY!!!
  10. My AL Starters would be: C: Mauer 1B: Morneau 2B: Kinsler SS: Bartlett 3B: Longoria OF: Crawford OF: Bay OF: Hunter SP: Greinke RP: Nathan My NL Starters would be: C: Bengie Mo 1B: Pujols 2B: Utley SS: Hanley 3B: Wright OF: Ibañez OF: Upton OF: Kemp SP: Santana RP: Hoffman I wish I could fit Adrián González in the starting lineup, but no can do.
  11. Bruce has a monster bat and has hit some moon shots this year. His average is down a bit but it sounds like that is not a concern in the future. His swing kind of reminds me of Braun's swing. A guy that is lighting up the minors is Josh Vitters. The guy is demonstating that he has a polished bat at a young age. He has some work to do with the glove but that is improving. We won't have to worry about him for awhile because he is behind Ramirez and the Cubs are not going to rush him through the minors.
  12. 4 @ FLA (2-2) 3 @ATL (2-1) 3 vs COL (2-1) 3 vs CWS (2-1) 3 @ CLE (1-2) 3 @ DET (1-2) 3 vs MIN (1-2) 3 vs SF (1-2) 3 vs NYM (1-2) 13 wins 15 losses Braun 6 HR's Fielder 7 HR's Cameron 4 HR's Total = 17 HR's
  13. After reading Adam McCalvy's posting "Brewers' Draft Hopes Take Hit," I got me thinking of alternative solutions that may improve the current system on receiving draft pick(s) for a free agent in this unique situation with the Angels and the Yankees. I think the current draft pick rewarding system is pretty solid, however, I believe (I am a little Brewer biased) the Crew got the short end of the stick. The Angels were rewarded with the Yankees' 1st[/sup] round pick while the Brewers received a 2nd[/sup] round pick due to Mark Teixeira's higher Elias ranking of 98.889 compared to Sabathia's 98.110 even though the Yankees had signed Sabathia first. I was wondering what some your ideas are on developing an alternative system to handle this dilemma.
