  1. We have a salary dynasty league that has been going on for over ten years that needs some new owners. Old age and family has taken away some of our owners, so we are down to 8 owners in a twelve team league. The cost of the league is $50 with 100% payback to the top three teams in the league and the season wins leader. This is a standard 5x5 scoring format with a minor league roster option. Lots of Brewer fans in the league. Our idea for new owners is to have an expansion draft with the following rules: Existing owners can submit a full set of keepers for this year. ( this is limited to a set dollar and at most existing teams can keep 8 players from last year) Any new owners can pluck any remaining players left over from each teams roster from last year. If they decide to take any players, they would be at the salary levels from last years roster plus the salary increase due for 2017. Also new owners are free to take any players from the teams not returning and any free agents from last year. This is a very active league with great owners. We are hoping to fill these slots quickly, and any new owners would have to pay dues before a team slot is reserved. The expansion draft section pick order will be determined by the first teams paying dues for this year. Hope to hear from a new crop of owners soon, and you can email me at tsatorius@yahoo.com for quick responses!!
  2. Recently, I bought a large box of comics full of early Captain America, Spiderman, and Ghost Rider comics, which has sparked an interest back in comics. The problem is that I have not collected comics since I was a kid. I would like to get back into it, but am clueless on what the comic book scene is these days. I do not want to collect anything new, but am more interested in material I may have read as a kid or earlier. I was more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy, and also was a big fan of Archie comics as a kid. I am not looking at collecting to make a killing money wise, but would like to have some nice pieces mixed in with some low end bulk. The couple of comic book stores that I went to, had mostly newer stuff that did not interest me. So, where would be a good place to start looking for older comics from the 60's and 70's? Also, how are comic book values holding up, or would I be throwing money down the drain?
  3. I have a car question as well....my girlfriend wants to buy a used Mini Cooper, something around a 2005-2008. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with them and also how difficult/expensive are they to maintain.
  4. I know that people defend WWE as a show that is better writen, and wrestlers are given better story lines and gimmicks then what is given out in TNA and even WCW back in the day. However, the WWE giving Natalya a gimmick that she has some digestion issues, and during exercise squats cannot control herself and embarrassingly rips out farts has to be one of the dumbest things I have seen in years.........
  5. All of this. I would have been truly sad had he taken something we could have rationalized affording i.e. 5 years $125m or something of the like. Instead we will always be able to fall back on the fact that a 9 years $214m deal with the Brewers was just never even remotely plausible. I wish he could've continued here in Milwaukee for the rest of his career but I was glad we had him for the time we did. It is rather amazing to me how much bigger of a deal in terms of total dollars he got than the following 1B who are arguably just as good if not better than Prince: *Adrian Gonzalez 7 years $145m *Mark Teixeira 8 years $180m *Ryan Howard 5 years $125m This is why if I would have anything close to major league level baseball talent I would hire Scott Boras as my agent. He is the devil to us small market fans and he has his occasional hiccups (see Madson, Ryan) but most of the time he flat out gets people paid. Thanks for the memories Prince. Somewhere today, Joey Votto is wearing a big smile after seeing what Prince got. Its weird to think that with the losses of Pujols, Prince, Pena, Lee and probably soon to be Votto, you could have an entire division have to replace their 1B/cleanup hitter in a one year period.
  6. This is all the Spanish that you need to know when you go to Mexico City...........
  7. I have had a man crush on Murphy for some reason, maybe because he reminds me of a left handed Jeff Cirillo. I wonder if his trade value is hurt since he did suffer a leg injury during the last few weeks of the season.
  8. Kmart has a great deal this week, where if you buy over $110 in games, they give you a $50 coupon towards a future game purchase. So, I snagged Battlefield, COD and am going now to get Skyrim for $10. I have my law school entrance test in two weeks, so I am not even going to open that Skyrim package. Or, maybe just a peek to see how pretty it is................
  9. I have always liked TNA, even way back when they were on at like noon on Friday afternoons. TNA has always reminded me of those old TBS days of WCW in the late 80's and early 90's. Some great young talent mixed with some castoffs from WWF and a real southern style of broadcasting to them. Yes, its cringe worthy at times, but I sometimes like my wrestling being corny. Having the Muppets on Raw this week reminded me that I like my wrestling when it doesn't take itself too seriously. As for the current state of TNA, you might want to give them another chance. Vince Russo was recently demoted from Head Writer, so some of the "stupid item on a pole" matches might not be some common. Tonight had a great title match that featured a battle between Storm and Roode. After the outcome, I can not wait to see how they develop these two guys for the future. In regards to bringing in celebs in wrestling, I don't mind it. Look at how many Wrestlemania's did this. Were they needed, perhaps not, but watch any highlight clip and they will show the appearance. Do I remember every match from those PPV's? Not a chance, but I will always remember Uecker, Regis, Pam Anderson, Tyson, LT and Mr. T at those events. Its free publicity, and in the case of TNA, they need all the help that they can get.
  10. Reports from TMZ say that the relationship with his son is already over, and the son is no longer wrestling. I know this is a WWE thread, but pretty shocking TNA news that James Storm of all people won the heavyweight title this week.
  11. One of my favorite Brewers of all time.... http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRh2wX_IdrOdKUe1MYi4_SSXouclYnmBeafboBuuvOt9uWzumKNLA
  12. I agree, that I would not want Skyrim to be like a WOW game. What Two Worlds 2 did that I liked, was that they kept the single player game completely separate from the multiplayer. None of your stats or items carried over to the other aspect of the game. So, in the multiplayer part of the game, you had to build your character up from scratch. One mode that I liked with multiplayer was a small battle arena similar to a 3-D fighting game. Blast to do with a friend and interesting to see how a mage would fight a warrior. The other mode was a direct quest mode, where instead of being free roam, you are given a specific task to be completed with only 1-8 people on a certain part of the map. So, instead of running into hundreds of people online, you limit it to a small group fighting the hordes of monsters. I think that this would add to the replay value of a long RPG like Skyrim. Once I have completed the game, I might not want to invest another 40 hours into the single player at least right away. Also, sometimes I just have time for a quick mission, and all the quests in multiplayer in Two Worlds 2 at least could be finished in less then thirty minuets.
  13. Games on my radar: 1. Twisted Metal-not sure how I feel with flying vehicles in the game 2. NBA 2K12-can't wait to play as the Bucks from the 70's and 80's. With the lockout, maybe I can go a season without any Bucks getting injured and making them useless to play online 3. WWE 12-new engine and includes great tag teams Demolition and the Legion of Doom in the game. 4. Saints Row the Third. I have finished all the Saints Row games, never a GTA game...nuff said. 5. NBA Jam- EA got this right now by making it an arcade game, being able to play as both of your teammates during the game, and updates. 6. Skyrim- however...just finished Two Worlds2 and Skyrim could learn a few things from that game....mainly include multiplayer. 7. Battlefield 3-I will get MW3, but nothing better then being able to blow up anything in a game, or hop a ride with a friend online and mowing down the opposition. 8. Jerry Rice and Nitus' Dog Football-actual game of football with your dog on Xbox coming out. Just seeing if you made it to the end of my list.
  14. One other point...the invite does take up to a week for the email, so don't be alarmed if you do not get it instantly.
  15. Just my two cents....been playing with this for the last week or so. Great product, but you will find some songs that wont play for whatever reason. The free version does require you to listen to a short commercial every 5-10 songs, but well worth the delay.
