  1. Supposedly the Nats are making Ian Desmond availabe.
  2. Callis has never really been high on Peralta. He usually favors Scarpetta over him.
  3. I think if they feel Archie Bradley is the best player available at pick #12 they will pick him regardless of price but if they don't pick him at 12 they really can't consider him at 15 because he has way too much levage to risk an unprotected pick on. I could be wrong though since they can sign him to a two sport contract and spread out his bonus.Francisco Lindor on the otherhand would be consider with both picks because even though he is going to want over slot money he is more than likely going to sign.
  4. Frankie Piliere came out with his second mockdraft yesterday. Interesting he has the Brewers drafting Archie Bradley and Mikie Mahtook while passing on Francisco Lindor who fell all the way to the Angels at 17. 12. Brewers - Archie Bradley, RHP, Broken Arrow H.S. (Okla.) Milwaukee has been linked to a boatload of names, and they may believe they won’t get their shot at Archie Bradley. It’s hard to see them resisting his arm twice in the same round. Jungmann and Mahtook also lead their short list. 15. Brewers - Mikie Mahtook, OF, LSU Mahtook probably won’t fall any further than this. He has a lot of takers, including the Cubs at pick nine. Again, Milwaukee is letting this thing play out and are considering a large variety of names.
  5. Also in the comment section of Keith Law's mock draft. When asked if the Brewers will take George Springer with the 12th or 15th pick? He reply "I understand they'll consider him, but he's unlikely to be their choice."
  6. Keith Law added this to the comment section of his mock draft "Since posting, I've also heard that the Brewers would consider both Jed Bradley and Taylor Guerrieri at 15, probably over Cron."
  7. According to the Lookouts announcers Wily velocity was normal sat 94-95 mph for most of the night. He did get hit in the leg by a line drive in the 4th inning that had him shaken up but he had problems getting outs before that too.
  8. I would be happy with Michael at 15. Especially if they draft a pitcher with a lot of upside at 12 like Archie Bradley.
  9. I don't think Michael is a reach at 15 at all. I wouldn't be shocked if the D Backs pick him with their unprotected pick at 7th overall. From what I hear Michael is comparable with Stephen Drew with a little less power but should hit for a higher average.
  10. It also depends if Rendon medical records check out if they don't he could fall.
  11. I would take Swihart over Bell just because Bell is likely to play either first base or left field and Swihart probably will stick at catcher. Bell definitely has the better bat though.
  12. I think Swihart signability takes him out of the running for the #15 pick however I could see the Brewers picking him at #12 if they think one of the college pitchers they like will still be there at #15. I really like Swihart he reminds me a lot of Brett Lawrie with maybe more upside and less baggage.
  13. I also watched both games and competely agree with Toby. The main reason being his sidearm throwing motion that Toby pointed out on twitter and in the other thread. A course it has only been two games so maybe Farris will eventually adjust and change that motion.
  14. He wasn't released, he was outrighted mid-season off the 40 man roster and then became eligible for minor league free agency at the end of last season.
  15. I've watched some of the Sounds games on MILB.TV and I have been pretty impressed with Brandon Boggs. He reminds me a lot of his former teammate in Texas Marlon Byrd.
  16. I think if anything the Braun extension helps the chances of signing Greinke to an extension. Greinke coming from the Royals has no interest in being on a rebuilding team and with Braun on the team there is less of a chance that the Brewers will have to rebuild.
  17. Scooter needs to prove that he can play second base first. He is currently below average at second base. Personally I would rather see Vucinich get a few more starts at SS for Brevard.
  18. Hart is fine, Butler on the other hand left with an injury after being hit in the head by a ball off of Vinny Rottino's bat. Butler needed to be helped off the field no word yet on how serious the injury is.
  19. Logan you might want to check out this article from Jason Grey on the adjustments McGehee made in 2008.
  20. Hunter Morris should get a couple starts right off the bat with Eric Hosmer still playing for team USA in the Pam American games.
  21. I think Nashville having back to back doubleheaders probably had something to do with it.
  22. That is what I thought of Odorizzi tonight too. His fastball was between 90-92 mph for most of the night and even drop down to 88 mph in the 5th. He suffer a little bad luck in the fifth when Michael Gilmartin ground ball trickle through the infielder since Michael Marseco broke for second to cover the bag with Stassi was stealing. If Marseco could made that play Odorizzi probably would of been able to get out of that inning alright.
  23. Odorizzi is schedule for next Tuesday. Link
  24. I think a lot of people will use the Uggla comparison since they're both stocky second baseman, but Lawrie is more athletic then Uggla. I like the comparison Frankie Piliere on AOL fanhouse used after the futures game he compared Lawrie with Magglio Ordonez.
  25. I noticed that ESPN scout Jason Grey wrote on twitter that he was at the AZL game between the Reds and Brewers yesterday to scout Yasmani Grandal. So I decided to asked him what he thought of Tyler Roberts and here is what he had to say. "one of the better prospects here -- should hit, good receiving skills, still some questions about arm "
