  1. Maas, great job on the list. This is always one of my absolute favorites. Great to see Nick Ramirez, Max Walla making the list. Obviously, you had to drop Cameron Garfield a few notches and to be quite honest, I figured it would have been further down than it was. I looked at his stats this season (when he has played) and they are not bad .361 avg, RBI's, couple of dingers, doubles, singles, etc..... Do you think catching is the reason his bat has been slow to come around? It seems that everytime he has time off from behind the dish his bat comes back strong. Also, what's the latest, I see he has not been in the lineup for quite awhile? In the top 50, you mentioned that his latest injury was a dislocated knee, was there another injury that we didn't know about? Because from what I have read, he was sent to AZ. to rehab the knee.
  2. Alright, about time. Just keep it steady Khris, keep it steady !!!!!!!
  3. Thanks for the roster update answer. Have another one for you. When a player goes on the DL, isn't there a final time limit (20 days) ? If so, isn't it safe to say that if an injured player reaches the 20 day mark and is still not fully rehabbed, isn't the organization required to assign them to the rehab location to open up a roster spot at the players last assignment?
  4. Update: Baseball America reported on 07-14-11, that the following players were released by the Brewers, RHP Damon Krestalude, C Gerald Ogrinc, OF Brandon Jones. So, that seems to be one less catcher in Az. Why they are still carrying Ogrinc on the roster is anyones guess. Somebody, anybody know?
  5. Wow, yes there are a bunch of catchers on this team. Riggins (unknown injury) and Neda (re-injuring his hand/thumb), look to be staying there (DL) for a while. Garfield was activated, but still has quite a ways to go before his quad injury will allow him to be assigned back to Wis. or even some talk of Brevard depending on the situation there. As for the rest of the catchers assigned to AZ., I guess it's a learning curve thing for the rest of the season.
  6. You all know how I feel about catchers, so keeping it short, "I like it." !!!!!!
  7. Since the catcher is the most important position on the field and everything starts with him, he is the first one I observe when I watch a game (t.v. or live). I think this might turnout to be a beneficial move for the player as well as the organization. Paciorek has always had a good strong arm and he is not afraid to get in front of the ball. We will have to see how his footwork and ball transitioning pan out, as well as his ability to take charge of the game and the pitching staff. I have a few critics out there that think I bang on or tear down the catching that the Rattlers have every year. I am not tearing down any individual, I simply make observations on the player currently assigned to that position and place my opinions (in open forums). My current observation/opinion about the catching presently assigned to the Rattlers is that it should be changed. I think the back-up catcher should be the starter and another catcher should be brought in, giving the current starter an opportunity to work on many areas that need obvious vast improvement. Prices continue to soar and I do not see anything getting cheaper anytime soon. So, when I attend a game and see something that needs obvious attention, I wish that the organization would attend to it and bring in someone who is ready for that level of baseball. That way, when I leave a game, I can feel confident that I watched the best possible choice for that assignment at that level. That's all, no more, no less. With all that being said, it still boils down to opinions and I'm not the only one out here who has one. Good luck to Paciorek, I hope it all works out for him.
  8. And that, I like your thinking. All were very deserving.
  9. Bk should already be there, but after the all star break it should be a no brainer.
  10. So, they still get to have their 25 active players and also get to carry the guys on the DL at the same time, right?
  11. I noticed that Rogers and Garfield are not even in Wisconsin anymore, but are both in Arizona going through rehab. How does this work in regards to roster spots? They are still showing on the rattlers roster (7 day dl), but have been gone for weeks and are not scheduled to return for quite a while. I would think that they would be dropped off the roster and another would have taken their spot. Once again, how does this work?
  12. Happy birthday Garfield. Get well soon, we could definately use you back in the line-up.
  13. Thanks crew07. Had no idea it was that difficult.
  14. Anyone have anykind of injury update on all the players sent down to Arizona for rehab?
  15. Wow, if he starts to catch again, one has to question all the stuff that was going on with the Brewers. Did Salome go through all of that just to get away from the Brewers? Makes you wonder?
  16. From what I was able to find on the less than reliable social networking sites, garfield has had a leg injury since reporting to the rising stars game that has been getting progressively worse, resulting in him being unable to bat or play defense without pain. I guess they pulled him when he started to limp behind the plate.
  17. I agree, let's just wait and see, but what do you think will be the situation with Roberts? I have been hearing serious talk about a lot of DH and playing 1B. Have you heard anything?
  18. I agree and will be watching Hawn a bunch. I have a good feeling about that kid.
  19. Ok, let's see what Neda can do? He certainly did not beat out Garfield in ST, so let's see if the Brewers saw something in him or if he is just another older player that they are using to infringe on the reverse age discrimination rights of other players who actually earned the promotion?
  20. It's foundation is off first hand observation and the stats. Why do you think they gave him the ST hitters award? also he threw out 37 percent of the runners, tops for the camp.
  21. He beat out Neda, plain and simple. He deserved the bump up, but at the end of the day, you cannot control certain things and unfortunately also cannot control reverse age discrimination in the minor leagues.
  22. Absolutely flabbergasted!!!!!! Bottom line is that Garfield beat out Neda and won the Brevard County job hands down, no question. Heck, Garfield even was awarded the hitter of ST award the day before camp broke. There had been rumblings about age coming into play and I guess it did. I agree that having both Garfield and Roberts in the same place is going to be a headache. If we could only merge them together and have a defensive catcher like Garfield and a hitter like Roberts. Oh well, Roberts still has to prove himself above AZ. rookie ball.
  23. That link was pretty funny, does anyone have a real boxscore?
  24. How about a box score !!!!!!!!
  25. Read that a few players put on quite a show at BP yesterday, putting a few balls off the new scoreboard and the slide.
