  3. sorry Viz, not your mistake... cmon bullpen, don't blow this game, and actually win one for the brewers (for a change)

  5. Everytime in his career he's gotten really really hot, to the point that no pitcher in the league can get him out... he rips his heart out by getting hurt.... Usually a play where he is giving maximum effort, but where he unfortunately is being reckless.... Ughhh... 2 outs bottom of the 9th, hopefully this one will go 10 ,,,

  7. www.roycetothebench.com -or- www.royceclaytonsucks.com Its time for drastic measures... there is absolutely no rational reason to play royce clayton... Of course, the rest of the county tries to tell us that there isn't a rational reason for being a brewers fan.... ah well... guess it comes with the territory...
  8. That he has what it takes to be a great manager... time to sit Clayton down, at the very end of the bench... He's had a couple hits the last few nights, but Hall and Ginter have been much better, in the past week, and throughout the season... Wow, seven in a row... Break up Milwaukee http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif (I guess this ruins any chance we had at the #1 pick)... I believe someone on the radio mentioned that we are only one game below .500 since the all-star break (as of tonight's final)... Perhaps the Brewers goal of .500 in the second half wasn't such a pipe dream after all... Props to Kinney for another solid performance...
  9. I'm going to say we win 4-1 tonight, for #7 in a row... Our starting pitching has been on fire, and our offense has been clutch lately... (On a side note... Glendon Rusch was really throwing strikes last night)... maybe we'll use him in long relief again tonight (to showcase him for a possible trade).... I can only hope... I'll also we watching for Podzilla... the rightful 2003 NL Rookie of the Year (since Willis, Webb, and others have tanked lately)
  10. Hehe... guess I was wrong tonight... way wrong...
  11. Ughhh, this game has "loss" written all over it... On the bright side... I'm done with work http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif It was a darn slow day, and darn hot outside...
  12. yeah... you're probably right... sit Sheets for the season, and bring up Luis Martinez to make his major league debut on Sunday!
  13. Before the injury, I had Sheets pencilled in on Sunday... the fine afternoon where I've decided to hold a Stoughton Youth Center event (via bus)... Its always a good thing when your employer pays for tickets AND pays you to watch the baseball game... hehe Anyways, I was hoping that the Brewers would put their best foot forward on that day, as to convert 15 (cubs fans), into 15 young BREWER fans! I'm not sure of the section we'll be in yet (need to check the tickets).... anyone else going on Sunday? Is it still likely that Sheets will pitch (on five days rest)... or will Obermueller (who was scheduled to start tomorrow) mess up the rotation? Emergency start on Thursday for Luis Martinez??? Or Martinez major league debut on Sunday??? either would be sweet
  14. If he's a YOUNG player or made of CLAY, he'll get a TON of atbats for the Brewers. *****.... LOL... ok...ok... that really isn't that funny... i'm just bored WHOA SOLVDD
  15. I was really impressed with his showing through five innings, but that sixth inning pushed his outing to "average", and likely results in another loss for the Crew.... although, 6IP 3ER, given Atlanta's devastating offense, isn't that bad.... here's to the 2004 #1 Draft Pick (lol, i originally typed 1994.... we haven't been this bad that long have we?), and hopefully a #20-#25 draft pick in 2005...
  16. I'm hoping for another solid performance from Rusch, but i'm not holding my breath... On the other hand... Benson has been on the "rumor mill" and we hammered him... make we can hammer another rumor mill pitcher (Benson) for good measure... Either way... The Odds of either Rusch or our Bullpen losing this game for us is nearly 100%... should we win, i'll be more than happy to eat my words.... Pirates 5 Brewers 4 (Simon game winning solo HR off DeJean in the 8th inning) Rusch.... 6 IP 8 H 4 R 3 ER 2 BB 4K
  17. You're right about us finding quality relief arms each year, or atleast one new one each year... Unfortunately, they become sooooo good that our managemenet refuses to trade them, and then their second year with the club (other than Ray King), they stink... Example... Leskanic, DeJean, Viz, etc.... Not an exact science, but I really wish the brewers would trade these guys at the deadline each year... If Estrella gets hot for 2 weeks, I bet we could get a mid-level position prospect for him... heck, we've got plenty of relief pitching prospects, and can always convert some of our lower level starter types.... I don't see the value of hanging on to bullpen guys, or guys with 1/2 or 1 1/2 years left on their contract... If they aren't going to be around for the next Brewers team that contends, trade them for someone who is.... 60-102 or 68-94 for the Brewers, makes no difference to me, but we might get a better draft pick if we don't do as well...
  18. I'm surprised to see Benson get lifted so early... Although his control does seem to be poor tonight... The Pirates gotta love what that just did to his trade value... Nice piece of hitting by Vanderwahl... brought a big cheer from the upstairs neighbors who are watching the game and starting thirtsy thursday a little early -GB
