the deal is off The White Sox and Rangers are no longer set to do a Jon Garland deal, says FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. Rosenthal indicated yesterday that it was basically a done deal, but now he says the Orioles and other teams are also talking to the White Sox about Garland. Talks with the Rangers could be revisited. A deal with the Orioles would likely involve Hayden Penn and additional young pitching. Such a move would put Baltimore in prime position to finish firmly in fourth place in the AL East.

Some interesting info found via the Beerleaguer Phillies blog tonight. - The White Sox may be talking about bringing Aaron Rowand back. I have also heard of some radio reports indicating that the Sox are again attempting to acquire Omar Vizquel. www.mlbtraderumors.com/ thoughts? Maybe we can get Rowand to MIL?

i know this could be in the Drew topic but rumor has it that the Cubs has offered Drew a 3 yr 40 mil deal. That is a lot of money to be offering a injury prone outfielder from the dodgers newspaper.

would he be a good fit? He wants to play CF and has opt out of his current 3 yr 33 million contract. How much would you pay for him. Maybe we can add Drew and Nomar, to sure up our OF situation. Trade Jenkins and Clark and gain some salary. Thoughts?

would u want Marcus Giles at 2B since the Braves are shopping him, and would u be in favor of having Giles at 2B, Weeks in CF, Hall in LF, and Koskie at 3B?

LOL are u jealous of the best team in history, and also the best website in history?

General manager Pat Gillick indicated that the Phillies would look to move Pat Burrell, perhaps eating some of his remaining $27 million over the next 2 years, as long as he would waive his no-trade clause. "We're going to have to continue to look for a little more offense. We know we're probably... Pat has had a really difficult time protecting Howard," Gillick said. Instant Rumor: Orioles, Red Sox, Brewers, Giants and Padres all could have interest in Burrell. www.benmaller.com/ scroll down to Baseball rumors. (misleading subject -TC)

The Philadelphia Inquirer has floated the idea of an Alex Rodriguez for Pat Burrell trade. The Phils could definitely use a third baseman, but why the Yanks would want Burrell is beyond us. The Inquirer suggests he could DH and allow New York to shift Jason Giambi back to first base, but the Yanks don't appear to want Giambi to play the field. Of course, if Burrell were a smooth-fielding first baseman, things might be different.

Would u like it if the Brewers signed LHP Ray King? He wont be back with COL, and we desperatley need LH RP. It shouldnt cost that much.

Carlos is cruising,

I think Davis should be traded, I just hate how many walks he gives up. I say Sheets Capuano FA pitcher (Suppan?) Bush Villanueva getting Suppan will help us win more games, since hes a brewer killerhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

you know whats funny, everyone was bashing Jenkins when he was cold, they wanted him to leave, and now the SAME people are loving him, and want him back next year. It's just plain funny.

wisconsinfan, just cause Jenks struck out against one of the top pitchers in the league doesnt mean he sucks, if you go about that, than every time Hart strikes out, and Jenks gets a hit, does that mean Hart sucks? You cant compare one at bat, and Jenks has been on fire latley, also Fielder struck out aginst Oswalt does that mean he sucks? So please dont compare at-bats. Im not a jenks fan either.
