  1. With no outs and a runner on 2nd on an apparent passed ball the sCrUBS Angel Pagan is out on a close play at 3rd. Piniella comes out and immediately slam dunks his cap a the umpires feet and get tossed immediately, also. Sweet Lou manages to kick dirt on the umpires shoes and pant leg several times and also knocks his cap around the field three or four times. Got his money's worth before heading into the dugout to cheers by the fans!! Then the Braves are taken off the field while the groundskeepers clean up the area in the left and leftcenter warning track area. SWEET!!
  2. I definately should have recorded it. ESPN did an outstanding job of producing this one. Send me a msg in my ezInbox if you can help us out. Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm too old to remember back that far, but I do remember when we first got cable and watched 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' the Jack Nicholson version in 1981, on HBO. We closed the door and curtains, scared that my minister for sure would show up while we were watching! He did not.
  4. Agreed. The little weasel has a voice for, well, print media. I turn off the show for a while on the way home when I hear it.
  5. I won the cash equivalent of one year of free gas about six years ago on WKLH radio Milwaukee(some $600 IIRC). Methinks that was the only time or at least the most valuable, money-wise
  6. Received his email yesterday (he does umpiring; spent 6 weeks at Harry Wendlstadt's school this past January: Well, I just got news to make my entire summer, possibly entire year. My primary (umpire) assigner presented me with the opportunity to work a U14 game inside freeking Miller Park! June 29th. The assigner left me VM this morning stating that my game for that night has been cancelled but he has an offer for me. Based on my level of service I as one of the two that he targeted to work this game. Its at 5.00 on the 29th of June, and he was worried that I might not be able to make it based on time of day/week. Pssssshhhhh. The list of things I would not reschedule for this is either very short on non-existant. Then, when I called him back and as popped into his mind, he realized that he could possibly make it a 4-man crew. And almost 100% likely is that the stadium will be open to family/friends etc..... Whew...gotta calm down
  7. Bad way to end a great season
  8. Link to J/S article
  9. See the 2 top articles Yep, go Pointers!
  10. It's a 8 team double elimination deal at Fox Cities Stadium in Appelton which was a great atmosphere today for it's 10am tilt. Perfect morning for baseball, weatherwise. Pitcher Jordan Zimmerman(RH) is a stud for the Pointers; expect him to be drafted within the first 5 rounds next month... check out box score J/S piece
  11. Tell me what you make of this little nugget found in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today. I could not find it online so I will type it in as is: -------------- The NBA may consider examining it's draft lottery system after speculation some teams weren't trying their best to win late in the season, with the hope of improving their chances of getting the top pick. NBA Commissioner David Stern would like the owners to talk about the current weighted lottery, which gives teams with the worst records the best chance of selecting No. 1. He said he likes the system but wasn't happy with the way some teams played down the stretch. "I haven't spoken to a lot of owners," Stern said. "On the end of the season and what teams do competitively, I think we should look at the lottery system and see whether it can be improved. I believe that." -------------- It appears to me, seeing the bottomfeeder's Bucks, Celtics, and Grizzlies all fell the maximum of three places last night, he was none too happy with way some teams obviously were trying to help themselves this way. Apparently it was way to obvious...
  12. Melvin is being patient. Having said that, he will not GIVE Jenks away. At the same time if he does move Geoff you can bet the other team will be getting a bit of help with the salary.
