  1. Will be interesting to see how they make up our first 2 series with SF and Arizona. One series will likely be added to end of season with the 3 day extension they agreed on, but the other 3 games will be tough to make up with doubleheaders since neither of those two teams comes back here again during the season. Either we get screwed out of 3 home games and those games are made up on the road in SF or Arizona, or one of those series gets scrapped and we play 3 doubleheaders against 3 random teams throughout the season. Also ads on jerseys and batting helmets are in the deal. Gross.
  2. You greatly underestimate both the percentage of the population that is willing to get vaccinated and the percentage required to achieve the level of herd immunity to “tie a bow on this whole damn thing”. Too many of us are educated and understand the risks and will not attend mass gatherings without appropriate restrictions in place. So those restrictions will continue in some fashion for the rest of the year most likely. Masks will be the last to go because they don’t impede anyone making money. We’ll have games at 100% capacity with masks still required, guaranteed. The Brewers make more money in that situation than not requiring masks but having most of us stay home. It’s the same reason nearly all the stores and businesses here still require masks despite no legal requirement to do so. They don’t want to lose their best customers. The Brewers (and anyone in the sports/entertainment business) knows that the key to recovery is making those of us who’ve taken this seriously feel safe. If we don’t, we won’t show up and as the past year has shown, these businesses lose big $ when their only clientele is the anti-masker anti-vaccine minority.
  3. When they put up this years Wild Card pennant at the stadium (hate that they celebrate merely getting a WC to begin with...), it should go on a bathroom door or somewhere equally fitting.
  4. Did I hear correctly that 40 of the 60 games will be division games?
  5. If it’s cancelled service time still counts per the March 26th agreement.
  6. Their greed is going to offend many ticket buyers at a time when they are going to need them more than ever over the next year or two. Not smart.
  7. So with the new deal, maybe in 4-5 years before he really starts to decline? They now get an extended window to “go for it”, a decent return when they trade him and you can always find a big market team who can afford the big $ years at the end of the deal when he isn’t quite as productive.
  8. Won’t matter if they don’t have the $ to put a decent team around him. He’s got maybe 4 prime years left.
  9. Definitely stocking up on the “classic” BiG navy caps before they disappear.
  10. Would love it if they put a Chotchkie's in there. Now THAT place has some serious flair. I'd take a Shenaniganz.
  11. No way. From the MLB.com article: A source with knowledge of the deal's structure disputed Kanter's characterization of the new agreement, saying, "Any reports of the naming rights compensation offered by American Family being 'incredibly rich' are very exaggerated. The deal is very fair, consistent with the market size, and comparable to the amount teams are receiving in similar naming rights deals." If they were getting $2 million/year from Miller, this deal is likely in the $2.5-3 million range per year.
  12. I doubt they got more than a million/year more than Miller was paying.
  13. They'll be getting rid of the more subtle neutral colors in the stadium with this change. Get ready for bright red and blue everywhere.
