    Props to Ned for bringing in Overbay. Strange the announcers didn't realize until the 3rd pitch that there was a pinch hitter. Did they think Helms was batting lefty due to the three K's?

    Marlins only have 1 lefty in the pen, (and a familiar one at that) so it's time to pull Helms for Overbay. If it gets the Fish to bring in VDLS, do it.

    If Santana is going to pitch every day, why not take him out now and use Obermueller?

    A 1-2-3 eighth might have been better. Now it may come down to Hall's position in the order. Lee will not be given a chance to win the game, that's for sure.

    its amazing how ned can mess up a blowout win. 100% ned's fault. A manager is supposed to put his players in a position to suceed. Davis had nothing left, Botallico was put in against Bay at 2-0 count with a man on, then was left out there after clearly not having it today either. He's so surprised to have a big lead, he forgot it's a perfect time to use a rarely used pitcher. Why is JDLR still on the team if they won't use him? Trade him back to Boston for a couple of lobsters. He's useless if Ned won't use him.

    He's a 270ish hitter without much power or speed. He did have 64 extra base hits last year.

    Jack Wilson is having a Terrible year! Barely ahead of Hardy in OPS. He had a poor first season similar to what Hardy is now doing but seemed to be improving steadily until this year. Anyone with more knowledge of the Pirates know about this situation?

    Wow, given Overbay's struggles over the last 6 weeks, the 5-9 in the order looks ugly. But Ned will still have Durrington available for pinch hit duties.

    I hope you were kidding. For the record, Miller is outproducing Jenkins and plays a far more important defensive position. Oh, and he comes in about $15 million cheaper over the next couple of years. Miller is 36. With all the down time this year, what will he be doing in the 4th year? I still think the Brewers will something for Jenks. He is a better option than Womack and Bernie Williams.

    Interesting that Hardy did not start yesterday with Miller in there. (By the way, the offensive differences between Miller and Moeller are getting smaller and smaller--this may end up a worse signing than Jenkins.) I presume Moeller will be in for the day game and Hardy therefore out. Hardy-O-Meter stands at -6. (20-26 record with Hardy in the starting lineup, 15-15 without).

    Everyone knew it would be a bunt when Prince was not sent up. Talk about giving it away! Probably will not get the chance to use him now. Maybe he'll pinch hit for Hardy? No, there are no infielders left!
