  1. Good thing we traded for arms when our bats are straight manure
  2. I'd rather be realistically pessimistic than a blind optimist but you do you
  3. 30th in HR, 25th in isolated power and 19th in slug. That's not gonna get it done in October no matter how good your regular season record was. They get on base because they have the 2nd best walk rate in the league but what's the point of it when you can't slug? Station to station baseball doesn't work vs top pitching which is what you'll see in October. We've learned nothing as a franchise. It's all just hopium at this point.
  4. Nah. He was 18 in A ball. His GB rate wasn't anywhere near that in DSL or CPX. His exit velos at his age are exceptional. The kid will hit, especially now that he's a Redbird. And I won't "take a breath" because this team is the same thing they've been the last few years. You can't keep doing the same thing over and over and hope for different results. This team isn't winning anything in October so making that type of trade was insanely misguided and Arnold had to do it because he ran his stupid mouth prior to the TDL so he backed himself into a corner. Reeks of desperation. We don't have the style of offense that'll win in October. Not yet. Our GB rate as a team is 47.5% (worst in the league) and we're supposedly jettisoning a prospect because of a small sample size GB rate? Yeah, I don't believe that for a second.
  5. Frias and Ragsdale for May and JoJo is going to look like a colossal mistake in a few years considering how much this team is a pretender. The Brewers are simply the Paul Chryst Badgers. Look good on the surface but can't beat the teams necessary to actually win anything meaningful.
  6. Nobody's questioning or doesn't believe McCalvy.
  7. lol just straight up lol at that McCalvy tweet Pena - 55 FV Logan Henderson - 3 years younger, was a 50 FV prospect and has popped 2.2 fWAR in 69.1 career innings Bishop Letson - 45+ FV compared to... Zyhir Hope - 50 FV River Ryan - 28 years old with 0.4 fWAR in 20.1 innings; was a 55 FV grade somehow at 28 years old lol Brady Smith - 40+ FV In what world are those comparable packages?
  8. Yeah there really isn't any reason to trade the farm for 2-3 months of Skubal. He could go 8 innings, 1 run and probably lose with this team in October.
  9. The only way I'd ever deal Made is for hypothetical deals that would never happen. Made is as untouchable (and should be) for us as Konnor Griffin or Kevin McGonigle are for the Pirates and Tigers. There's zero reason to trade someone his age with his potential for anything short of a massive, massive return.
  10. Hiura never had sustained ISOs in the upper .300s like Fischer's done every stop. I don't think they are one and the same. You can take a more calculated chance on Fischer because when he does make contact, it's violent damn near every time.
  11. I mean just look at Levonas. Freshman season 35 IP, 5.91 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 11.31 K/9, 5.14 BB/9, 2.31 HR/9 Sophomore season 73.1 IP, 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 14.17 K/9, 4.03 BB/9, 0.86 HR/9 Went from looking like a bust to an ace in a year.
