  1. Nobody's questioning or doesn't believe McCalvy.
  2. lol just straight up lol at that McCalvy tweet Pena - 55 FV Logan Henderson - 3 years younger, was a 50 FV prospect and has popped 2.2 fWAR in 69.1 career innings Bishop Letson - 45+ FV compared to... Zyhir Hope - 50 FV River Ryan - 28 years old with 0.4 fWAR in 20.1 innings; was a 55 FV grade somehow at 28 years old lol Brady Smith - 40+ FV In what world are those comparable packages?
  3. Yeah there really isn't any reason to trade the farm for 2-3 months of Skubal. He could go 8 innings, 1 run and probably lose with this team in October.
  4. The only way I'd ever deal Made is for hypothetical deals that would never happen. Made is as untouchable (and should be) for us as Konnor Griffin or Kevin McGonigle are for the Pirates and Tigers. There's zero reason to trade someone his age with his potential for anything short of a massive, massive return.
  5. Hiura never had sustained ISOs in the upper .300s like Fischer's done every stop. I don't think they are one and the same. You can take a more calculated chance on Fischer because when he does make contact, it's violent damn near every time.
  6. I mean just look at Levonas. Freshman season 35 IP, 5.91 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 11.31 K/9, 5.14 BB/9, 2.31 HR/9 Sophomore season 73.1 IP, 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 14.17 K/9, 4.03 BB/9, 0.86 HR/9 Went from looking like a bust to an ace in a year.
  7. I am not moving any of Made, Pena, Adamczewski, Burke, Fischer, Letson, Hardin, Knoth, Dubanewicz, Ebel, Frias, Matos, Moneys or Jose Rodriguez. Everyone else is fair game. We have plenty of depth in the system to make legitimate trades without disrupting our core much, if at all. Just because someone is ranked in the 20s or outside the top 30 in our system doesn't mean they wouldn't fall squarely in the top 10-20 of another system. We have depth for days.
  8. Monday, July 27th at 4 PM CST
  9. Yeah I agree. Just saying that if it ends up being the only move rather than what you described then it becomes a potential issue for me with how risky that play is. We saw it not pay off last year with Miller getting hurt again and getting little real value out of that deal. Obviously not a one for one comparison considering we got a LHP with 5 years of control on top of McCullers but same overarching point. Hoping for more to come.
  10. I don't disagree with the idea of this but you simply cannot rely on McCullers to stay healthy. Even if he shows out for those 3-4 starts and we don't go after a more appealing SP option, what's keeping him from getting hurt again and leaving us right back in this spot? Again, I get it but it's very risky if this ends up being the only real move.
  11. I'm not even considering Kuhnel going forward. He was awful. I just don't think they'll DFA Koenig to make room on the 26 man nor Wilson as they need another long man in the BP after using Patrick so much 1st half. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Yoho is indeed on the roster this weekend or whenever McCullers and Gordon are officially up.
  12. My guess is we targeted Gordon for the long term Koenig role. I get it. The only fallback to this deal is Yoho is probably a casualty again. Not sure how much more he has to prove in AAA.
  13. They are not infallible. Acting like they are and completely missing the point of the post in general (and ignoring my prior post on the pick in the process) is nothing but bootlicking. I like Ebel, he's a solid player. The point of the post is at anywhere near slot, it's not good value. He won't be near slot so you're arguing just to argue because someone slandered your daddy.
  14. Can't really say that with any kind of confidence tbh
  15. If he comes in anywhere near slot, it's a bad pick.
  16. I get why they did it. Under-slot and the Ebel bros are about as safe as you can get for prep bats. Just lack the significant upside you'd love to see from your #1 pick. He'll be good and we'll land an over-slot at 66 most likely.
  17. This one is on the bats today but can we be done with the Kuhnel experiment? He's awful.
