  1. Agreed. For the rest of you, think Dick Vitale calling a Duke game, but in Japanese.
  2. How many years before Frontier Airlines forgets why they bother to bake cookies on-board and ditch the concept completely? I'll give it 3 years. I do think having a unique photograph of an animal on each one of their jets is a neat concept though. Gives the airport a zoological feel.
  3. A bit late, but I just watched this game in its entirety off of my DVR as I couldn't catch it live. I came really close to fast forwarding through the entire bottom of the 7th because of Joe Morgan's commentary. While I did end up suffering through it, the whole time I was thinking "wow, they must have had a field day on this one over in the In Game Thread..". Glad you guys didn't disappoint.
  4. A year or two ago, Gatorade had some 'alternate history' ads where MJ misses his shot against Cleveland ("Cavs win!"), Dwight Clark drops "The Catch", and a couple more. Anyways I wish they'd make one for this game someday. Edit: Found the
  5. The worst thing they possibly do to the best competition in American sports.
  6. The Pacific League uses the DH, while the Central League does not. So it is indeed the same problem as MLB - during interleague play and the Japan Series they play by the home team's rules. One thing to keep in mind about Japanese players (especially pitchers) that come to the MLB is that hardly any of them are making it over during their prime. Because of Japanese FA rules, most only get to the States by the time they are 29-30. Considering many of the top players regularly make the jump straight from HS to the pros when they are 18, they have already peaked by the time they have their opportunity to play in the MLB.
  7. It's something that we've almost all come to take for granted, by why is UW so tough at the Kohl Center? I can't imagine that it is any louder than some of the other arenas around the country. MSU & Illinois come to mind in terms of a more intimidating crowd presence in the B10. As far as the student section goes, it really only rises to the occasion for big games. So I'm thinking it has more to do with how Bo Ryan prepares his team, but how does a coach go about teaching this mentality? Before I get bashed, this is coming from a former UW student who had season tickets for every year eligible, including a full season in row AA.
  8. Just a quick 'thank you' to Blancofan for the post about disabling Homegroups.. was suffering from similar symptoms, and following the provided steps seems to have resolved the issue. As far as overall user experience goes, no complaints for Windows 7 so far.
  9. I agree..some of the other ones are horrific. Rangers Captain? Raymond?
  10. Small contribution made.. thank you for the hard work!
  11. I wouldn't want anything to do with Bowen either - hasn't he built up quite a reputation as a dirty player? Edit: A simple search of "Bruce Bowen" on YouTube brings up a great collection of nasty plays he's accumulated over the years
  12. Strawboss, let me know if your situation gets resolved.. since I'm abroad, live video would be the clincher for me in buying this app. So long as it works..
  13. Ah, too bad..spent some time in Milan, Pisa, and Florence in April. Good food, good wine, and Florence in particular was picturesque..
  14. For some reason this film won't be available in the UK until mid-October. I'll have to wait. Maybe this is part of their marketing ploy as well. Or maybe they needed time to translate it.
  15. Just did a quick search..doesn't look like it. Maybe their sponsorship deal with US Cellular had something to do with it.
  16. Looks like this is getting even more attention now: http://deadspin.com/52574...e-super-fan-+-who-ya-got I've followed this thread with some interest but haven't offered anything so far. My stance on this 'story' can be summed up as follows. Things I don't care about: - He chases/snags/collects baseball as a hobby - we all find pleasure in different ways - He demanded an atypical amount of items in return for the baseball - it's within his right to ask, although I think many of us would have conducted ourselves differently if in that situation - His occupation and salary compared to that of Chris Coghlan - I find this irrelevant to this argument Things I do care about: - He allegedly hops to different sections throughout the game - this is explicitly against ground rules. He needs to sit in/be in the vicinity of the seat he has purchased - He carries around the opposing team's gear - why do this, other than for the possibility of personal gain? As a fellow member of this site, I'd love for him to provide some explanation to the last point.
  17. This has all the looks of a "straight to DVD"..
  18. Past two episodes had their moments just like the rest, but overall felt like filler-material because nothing of note happened. You could really tell they tried to showcase the new receptionist in the last one to set her up for next season. No complaints about that though, I like her.
  19. Going to have to disagree with this one. In some lines of work, anything under a 3.0 will get your resume sent straight to the bin. GPA is quick and easy screening for recruiters when you're hunting for that first job out of school.
  20. This show was recommended to me and I watched all six episodes, but I honestly think I laughed twice the entire series. The whole BBQ scene was funny, and the unexpected ending of the second car dealership showdown was nice as well. But yeah..not my cup of tea I guess.
  21. Also, to show how far behind I am in terms of TV broadcasts..since when did they become FS Wisconsin (instead of FSN)?
  22. Didn't get a chance to catch any of the ST games, so today is my first time seeing the score box. What happened!? I'm sure its already been discussed ad nauseam so I won't get into it..but yeah, I don't like it.
  23. I'd be tremendously interested in a 2008 season DVD. Moved to England on March 31st (Opening Day 2008), so I missed most of the magic!
  24. The more creative amongst us can choose to incorporate the 'M' in the logo in their personalization, bringing the number of letters available to seven. Honor a Brewer legend, past or present: M OLITOR, M CCLUNG!
