Sorry to be nerdy, but: Episcopos is Greek from 'epi' meaning 'over' and scope 'meaning 'to see'. It liteally means 'over see'. The Latin word 'Bishop' comes from this, as a bishop is an overseer of the church. So we have a Bishop (Letson), and Episcope. And a Priest(er).

If Hiura were called up this year -- he would be in some ways mirroring the path of Andrew Benintendi, who made it to the majors 1+ year after being drafted as an extremely successful and polished college hitter. Drafted the previous summer, Benintendi started 2016 in high-A, then went to AA in mid-May, then skipped AAA and got called to the Red Sox in early August, contributing to the Red Sox winning the AL East. Also -- Benintendi was 7th pick in draft; Hiura was 9th.

When you hit .350 and have an over .400 OBP, it's a bit nitpicking to to say you have unimpressive on-base skills, no? I know the BB% is low, and yes, it's of course, he can't maintain a .432 OPB in MLB. But don't count it against him. It's not his fault he's raking in AA. I think he's still a .300 hitter in MLB which is deserving of hype.

So the upcoming the Rule 5 roster crunch sounds like a good reason to wait on adding Hiura, but at the same time, with 16 or more names listed by Eye Black -- well, anyway you cut it, we are going to have some good names exposed to the rule 5 draft, right? How many roster spots do we think Stearns is going to want to hold open and how much does it really benefit us to try to protect 4 guys vs 6 vs 8 etc....

If I'm Burnes, I think I am thinking -- 'Wow, this is cool. What an opportunity!? How great is it that my bosses recognize my talent even though I'm having a tough year in this Hell-for-Pitchers that they call Colorado Springs?' not 'Wow, they are jerking me around' Why do you say it seemed to set Peralta back? There are plenty of bullpen options, but Burnes is talented and they want to put the best players on the field.

A small hit to the proud tradition of catchers from LaCrosse -- Ghelfi, Damian Miller, Scott Servais, George Williams

Worked for the Red Sox with Benintendi. Why not Hiura?
