Great chance of being #1 on this list 9 months from now.
  4. Cooper Pratt
Still not entirely sold on his power output, but his defense looks legit. Plus athlete for his size.
  5. Robert Gasser
  6. Yophery Rodriguez
  7. Tyler Black
Lack of defensive position and poor underlying numbers in AAA cause the big drop.
  8. Braylon Payne
Could be a big riser in 2024. Double plus athlete flashing big EV in his short stint in Carolina.
  9. Mike Boeve
  10. Luke Adams
  11. Eric Bitonti
Could be a riser in 2024 if he can clean up the swing and miss. Best raw power in the system.
  12. Craig Yoho
  13. Logan Henderson
  14. Brett Wichrowski

Down year and I question how good the underlying power metrics look. Hopefully he bounced back with a strong AFL stretch.

  1. Jeferson Quero
Still the best combination of youth, upside, positional scarcity, and proximity to the majors. He'll have to prove that his cannon is untouched by injury, but there's no reason right now to doubt a full recovery.
  2. Jacob Misiorowski
Right there with Quero in terms of upside and proximity, but remaining questions surrounding control enough to slot him behind Quero.
  3. Jesus Made
Usually, I'm hesitant to slot a guy this high who's yet to touch full-season ball, but when you have services like BA and ESPN already ranking him as a top 100 prospect and the combo of batted ball data and contact that this guy is showing at all of 17 years of age you really have no choice. LONG way to go, but Chourio 2.0 is not too lofty a comparison at this stage, and he should
  4. Cooper Pratt
Only 20 and can do everything on the diamond, with the power just starting to show signs of materializing.
  5. Robert Gasser
Too bad TJ cut short what was looking like a quick ascent to a middle of the rotation starter.
  6. Eric Bitonti
3rd baseman, but power is impressive for an 18 year old and he's shown that it will translate to full season ball.
  7. Tyler Black
Relatively rough season for him, especially in terms of his peripherals, but the trademark plate discipline remains. Still has no positional home.
  8. Brock Wilken
Another guy who had a rough season, but the light tower power and the ability to play 3B remains and you wonder how much getting hit in the face threw a wrench into things.
  9. Braylon Payne
Only just turned 18 and a super impressive full season cameo with suprising EV #s. If he develops power, his upside is as big as anyone this side of Made.
  10. Mike Boeve
Hitting savant that is quickly closing in on the majors.
  11. Luis Pena
Was there step for step with Made from a statistical standpoint in the DSL. Also likely to skip the ACL and head straight to Carolina.
  12. Logan Henderson
Slowed down some in AAA to end the season, but also threw as many innings as he ever has and you can't ignore his performance over multiple levels. Will he develop that 3rd pitch?
  13. Yophery Rodriguez
Chourio has kind of distorted our perceptions a bit, because a 117 wRC+ is still really impressive for an 18 year old in A ball.
  14. Luke Adams
Cleaned up the mechanics a bit and posted a 154 wRC+ in A+ as a 20 year old. Questions are can he stay at 3B and will the hit tool hold up as he advances?
  15. Josh Knoth
Held his own as an 18 year old in A ball with a 10.25 K/9 and a 3.95 FIP and still has all the tools of a future middle to front of the rotation starter. He could blow up the list if he takes that next step with his command.
  16. Bryce Meccage
Another 18 year old arm with high upside. Anxious to see where/how he starts his professional career.
  17. Craig Yoho
Dominated over multiple levels and is a step away from the majors. Should be a key piece of the post-Devin pen.
  18. Brett Wichrowski
Had a solid season that slowed a bit in AA. Two plus pitches in fastball and slider and an average third offering. Command took a step back in AA.
  19. K.C. Hunt
What a season! And it came pretty much out of nowhere from a guy who wasn't even drafted. Command is impressive, and it's not a stretch to think he could impact the big league club next season.
  20. Blake Burke
He's going to have to hit enough as he's limited to 1B, but he's got the power and could move quickly.

Chourio graduating and Quero being injured and Black falling off means we'll head into the offseason lower in the rankings than last year, but you can see the potential to shoot back up into the top 10/5 with guys in the lower minors like Made, Payne, Bitonti, Pratt, Pena, Knoth, etc. and potential bounce backs from guys in the upper minors like Wilken and Quero.

I feel like even though this continues to be an incredibly deep system, the different issues that the top prospects have are all big red flags for me. Misiorowski's command, Gasser and Quero's injuries, Wilken's developmental stall at AA, Black's lack of a position. All of those prospects took a big step back for me. I still have tremendous confidence that Miz and Gasser will be solid contributors in future years, and I feel like Quero will still have a long career as a backup if he never hits. But these concerns pushed Pratt and Boeve up the list further than I expected.

After those question marks, however, this list is filled with UP arrows. I love the defense and athleticism of the guys in A-ball -- not just Lara and Rodriguez, but the other guys I left off, like Areinamo and Guilarte. Just like the current young Brewers, this gives them a high floor, which I am a sucker for.

I am loathe to tier guys before A-ball --- We saw Di Turi ascendent in Arizona before cratering in Carolina (and shouldn't Adamczewski be an option to list?), but the scouting community has convinced me Made is gunna hit, and Pena and Anderson were too good to ignore.

The pitching depth is stupid. There are 20 guys that "belong" on this list that won't make it. And the Brewers' magic ability to create pitchers out of thin air has me trying to instead highlight the bats.

I'm sure everyone could have gone 30 or 40 deep, myself included.

Star Tier - zero players
Tier 1 - Misiorowski, Gasser
Tier 2 - Pratt, Quero, Boeve, Wiken, Henderson
Tier 3 - Lara, Yoho, Black, Made, Rodriguez, Rodriguez, Adams, Bitoni
Tier 4 - The rest of the list, including an additional 20 guys or so. There will be several of these guys that could shoot up the list next season. They just need to prove themselves again, and at a higher level.

The top five are definitely in the order I want them. After that *shrugs*. Payne impressed enough in his few at bats to think, at minimum, he was undervalued by the pre-draft lists (while most didn't play at all, I believe he did end up with as many extra base hits as the other first round prep bats combined). Leaving out Letson, Smith and Di Turi was tough. The last spot was the most difficult, though. I wanted to include Boeve this time and didn't want to leave Areinamo or Wichrowski out, which left Rodriguez on the outside looking in.

Tough to leave off so much talent: Meccage, Burke, Baez, Wichrowski, Letson, Patrick, Anderson, L. Pena, Adamczewski, Bitonti, O'Rae... Hopefully Eric Brown Jr. can figure it out and Wilken doesn't fall further.

  1. Jacob Misiorowski
Easily the the highest ceiling and likely the highest floor of our arms. Hopefully he shows enough command improvement to be ready for a rotation spot by mid-season.
  2. Cooper Pratt
If he can build on his power he could be a top 15 prospect come this time next year. I would prefer to start the year in A+ but with the warmer weather in Biloxi a promotion may be a better place to start.
  3. Jeferson Quero
With Contreras likely playing to well to afford, Quero coming back strong will be essential. He turns 22 on Oct. 8 so there is no rush especially with Haase to push him next year.
  4. Tyler Black
The rubber is finally meeting the road this offseason. Either he gets a shot at 3B, Bauers role, or we should trade him before we lose value. I still have faith in the bat, but see him more as a OF.
  5. Yophery Rodriguez
He has all the tools to be a big time prospect, if he can hit .270+ next year I think he will be a top 50 prospect by the end of the year..
  6. Robert Gasser
It seems weird that he is still a prospect, if he wasn't out most of next year I would probably have him at 4.
  7. Logan Henderson
104/15 k/bb in 81 innings tells me there is a high likelihood he will be at least a solid 3/4 starter especially with the high end changeup. It will be interesting how we address his innings next year so he could be an option at the end of the year. Gasser and Henderson should give the rotation a lot of stability for years to come.
  8. Jesus Made
If Made gets of to a good say 50-100 ab's in Carolina he goes to #1 in my opinion. I dare to say Chourio style upside at SS if he can make adjustments as he climbs the system.
  9. Mike Boeve
9-12 are interchangeable based on what you value in a prospect. Boeve has the highest floor as a solid utility guy, he is probably the closest of the 4 to the bigs but definitely needs a couple months of AAA at least.
  10. Eric Bitonti
Probably the biggest upside of the group but also the lowest floor. Another guy who could easily be a top 50 prospect at this point next year.
  11. Luke Adams
If he could hit over .250 with those obp numbers and under-rated power and speed he is likely a top 100 prospect.
  12. Brock Wilken
Since the power stroke looked so good I will give him the benefit of doubt. A poor start to 2025 bumps him of this list quickly.
  13. Luis Pena
Pena kind of gets forgotten when compared to Made's skillset but he hit .393 with 23 xbh in 163 ab's. Probably another guy who could be a top 50 prospect by the end of next year
  14. Braylon Payne
The big 2nd game in Carolina shows the huge upside, I think in 2 years we should see some power develop and the insight the scouting department had will be revealed fully.
  15. Josh Knoth
A couple rough starts at the end of the year isn't enough to deter the high end stuff. Probably needs to cut down on walks a bit to get into the top 100 prospect discussion.
  16. Bishop Letson
If he can fill out his frame and add a mph or 2 each of the couple years there could be some top of the rotation potential.
  17. Carlos F Rodriguez
A rough start hurt his prospect status but still only 22 and has a high quality 10 starts or so in the middle of the year. Maybe he needs to edit his repertoire a bit to like 4 pitches and then add pitches back in once he establishes himself.
  18. Bryce Meccage
The big upside puts him here but could probably be from 15-25. If he can sit 93-95 with 4 solid pitches he will have a chance to jump up the rankings.
  19. Craig Yoho
Yoho and Hunt were just to good to leave off this list. I fully expect Yoho to break camp and be a leverage reliever by the end of the year.
  20. K.C. Hunt
If he was a year or two younger he would likely be up by Henderson and Gasser. I am interest to see if he is in AA or AAA.

21. Jadher Arienamo  22. Brett Wichrowski 23. Blake Burke 24. Luis Lara 25. Shane Smith 26. Juan Baez 27. Manny Rodriguez 28.Chad Patrick 29. Dylan O'Rae 30. Ernesto Martinez

It is crazy looking at the quality/upside in our 21-30 prospects, Wichrowski, Arienamo, Burke, and Lara could be top 10 prosects in a bunch of organizations.

31. Tate Kuehner 32.Jose Anderson 33. Josh Adamczewski 34. Juan Ortuno 35. Yorman Galindez 36. Marco Dinges 37. Travis Smith 38. Yerlin Rodriguez 39. Flippo Di Turi 40. Enniel Cortez 41. Coleman Crow 42. Mark Manfredi 43. Wande Torres 44. Dikember Sanchez 45. Jorge Quintana 46. Wes Clarke 47. Eric Brown Jr. 48. Jason Woodward 49. Ryan Birchard 50. Hayden Robinson

I am leaving of most of the 2024 draft class even though there are a couple who could be in here. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone.
