  1. Yes, we paid something like $32 million for 2 years of very little production from Rhys Hoskins. It didn't cripple us and even if Pratt busts this won't either. The Brewers need to make these deals when they can for top prospects. Maybe a little early and not the toolsy prospect Chourio was but he isn't getting as much as Jackson so price seems about right.
  2. Maybe Yeli is back as the regular in left so Sanchez can DH more. They need some power to replace Vaughn/Chourio and Sanchez is the best bet they have there right now. I guess we will find out soon enough.
  3. At least Bauers should get a chance to keep his hot spring rolling. Trying to find any silver lining....
  4. You have got to be kidding me. We get this on opening day??? 😡
  5. Do both Koenig and Hall have options? I think Koenig yes not sure about Hall. I would guess it would be Hall since Koenig has been high leverage the last couple of seasons but I think I read here Koenig has lost velocity this spring. Edit: Yes, Hall has an option remaining
  6. Last 6 opening days: Woodruff Woodruff Burnes Burnes Peralta Peralta Sort of the beginning of the end of the Big 3 era, Hopefully, we have another wave coming with all the talented young starters we have now.
  7. This is why I have really struggled to get back into Badgers buckets like I used to be. Just get back into sweet 16 once. As usual I thought this year was different. 😡
  8. I was surprised how much they are paying him too, he has been released 2 consecutive offseasons. But maybe bringing in him and Franklin are an attempt to just put more vets around Parsons and hope for more consistency from the defense. At least they are trying something different, just bringing back Quay and Gary wouldn't give me a lot of hope for improvement.
  9. I wonder what the deal is with Rasheed Walker? He is by far the best FA still available and waiting for the money to dry up doesn't seem like a sound plan. Maybe the market isn't what he expected and the Packers could still bring him back?
  10. Willis signs with Dolphins 3 years $67.5 with 45 guaranteed. I think that should net us a 3rd?
  11. Yes, seems like too much for him but salaries are skyrocketing and you need to bring some of these guys back. I suspect Enegbare will get something similar if the Gary talk is true. Assuming Morgan can play LT at least you can pencil in a starting oline now.
  12. I am surprised by this, he is still considered a solid 2 way edge and while not worth the contract it doesn't seem like a huge overpay. I guess they weren't happy with how he finished but Parsons is coming off ACL and LVN has been a disappointment. It's not like we can tank in 2026 for a top 5 pick.
  13. They are projecting Willis at $20-30 million per year. He is projected the top FA here as well: Top 101 NFL free agents of 2026: Who are the best players available? Remember back after the Baltimore game when the consensus in the media seemed to be he was still just high quality backup and that had not changed? $8 million per year? It will be interesting how much he actually gets,
  14. We just have to hope it is load management, it doesn't sound like a setback. But it's not good considering the same type of report happened last spring and it was July before he pitched for Brewers.
  15. Just completely handed the game to them. Unbelievable.
  16. Not for those players of course but if you were to say for a 5.5 WAR slugging 3B on an $8 million expiring deal and a bottom of the rotation starter with 5 years of control sure.
  17. I didn't like giving up Houser either, similar to Myers he was a useful MLB pitcher. But he was awful for the Mets that year and we still have Crow. He was also a lot more expensive than Myers.
  18. Count me as one who thinks giving up Myers is a little underrated here. He has had proven MLB success, it would not be shocking if Mets get more WAR out of him than we get out of Sproat. But they weren't giving up 12 years of control for one so I can see why we had to include him. That said, if we had to trade Freddy this seems like a very nice return. Williams sounds like a fantastic prospect who is on the rise. I would say that is the difference from the Burnes trade, Hall and Ortiz had already lost some prospect luster where these 2 seem to be rising.
  19. There is no way that would happen, Rodgers did all he could to push MM out the door. I think Rodgers retires and maybe comes back if there is an injury to a QB from a contender next season. If he wants to play maybe the Vikings see things a little differently now. He is pretty done, can still sling it and manage a game but just isn't mobile enough to be what he was.
  20. Are we in TACO territory? Not getting into the politics more looking at buying opportunity this week. I think I will treat it as such.
  21. I didn't watch any football this weekend as I never do after a Packers playoff exit but glad to wake up and see the Bears fans got their hopes up late and finally had their hearts torn out. That late rally crap was getting annoying, I expect they have a lot of bad luck coming their way next season.
  22. Schefter now reporting deal to extend MLF and Gutes expected to be completed. We can only hope it is a 2 year deal for LeFleur. 😡
  23. There is something to be said for that the trading team would be getting the first year at a reduced rate from the 15 million/ year he will get. But I think we are probably looking at a 3rd round pick at best. That's a heck of a lot better than a long term extension in my mind. It would have to really go bad for the Packers to eat ~50 million for a coach. He could probably survive consecutive 5-12 seasons.
  24. I am interested to see how Willis does on the market. Most articles I saw after his showing against Ravens didn't seem to think it moved the needle much and think he is still in the $8-10 million range. I think he gets a Justin Fields type 2/40 deal, I just don't know why QB needy teams would blink at that price when top guys are getting 50-60 a year these days. That he got hurt may be a red flag for some though.
  25. I know as soon as I post this they will announce an extension keeping MLF in GB through 2035 but I am now thinking he will not be our coach next year. Schefter was the one who said Monday he heard they were working on deal and now I see he is questioning what is taking so long. I think considering fan sentiment right now it may be best for both sides to get fresh start.
