  1. Which is the best percentage hitting team in the 2023 postseason so far?
  2. Crazy to see the Dodgers swept. I was deeply unhappy when the Brewers were swept, but that's how baseball works sometimes. Our heroes don't get it done. I guess somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright, the band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light.
  3. Arnold asked about trading Burnes. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/10/10/brewers-general-manager-matt-arnold-expects-pitcher-corbin-burnes-to-return-in-2024/71125782007/ There will be ample speculation, but Arnold said he anticipated Burnes being back next season. “We'll see how it plays out over the course of the offseason, but I would expect him to be here next year,” Arnold said. “We can never close the door on any conversations, as you guys know. That's just the reality of where we are, but we know that he is a very, very valuable member of our franchise.”
  4. I agree that Tellez and Lauer will likely be non-tendered. I'm curious about Houser though. He is a decent addition to the rotation, but $5.5 million seems a lot for what he brings,
  5. Maybe we should re-think our priorities just a little bit. The top 7 hitting teams: 1) Atlanta 2) LA 3) Texas 4) Rays 5) Astros 6) Phillies 7) Twins Top 7 pitching teams 1) BrewCrew 2) Padres 3) Mariners 4) Jays 5) Rays 6) Twins 7) Orioles
  6. I'm guessing he'll live in Connecticut or Jersey.
  7. I sure hope not. I'd hate to be mid pack/lower pack again for the next 10 years. The only silver lining is you can get seats behind home plate in September for $15 when your team is terrible.
  8. Some of us remember what it was like before those two guys ran the outfit.
  9. Tough night at the ballpark. A fair number left after the Diamondback's big inning, but plenty stayed and the place was rocking in the bottom of the 8th and 9th. It's a sad end to a good season. We didn't get it done. This one is going to sting for a while because we are the better team. But pitchers and catchers report in just a few months. So the caravan moves on.
  10. What about the people who stop and talk to their friends for a while right in your line of sight? Wonderful people.
  11. No, everyone here is great. But the know-it-alls are unpleasant at games. They find their way to Packer games too.
  12. Looking forward to being at the game tonight. But I pray that we aren't near any "baseball experts" who feel the need to explain the game in a raised voice so everyone can hear within about a 25 foot radius.
  13. I know Mitchell is a fan favorite. I'm a big fan. But he was 1 for 7 since coming back, and I wonder if he's even 100 percent healthy. It's a tough call out of a few less than stellar options.
  14. I would not give up the spot to Tellez. Winker brings a little more to the playoff table. Despite last night, his batting average as a pinch hitter is very high. But I will say that Tellez does sometimes show up when the lights are one, e.g., World Baseball Classic. But really, it's hard to say -- a pitcher makes a mistake, a hitter guesses the right pitch. You never know what will happen.
  15. Justin Verlander has a playoff record of 16-11 with an ERA of 3.64. Max Scherzer has a playoff record of 7-7 with an ERA of 3.58.
  16. I see what you're saying. But it's worth noting that even Verlander/Scherzer are sometimes not prime Verlander/Scherzer. They've both lost plenty in the postseason.
  17. Let's be honest. Gallen is going to be super tough tomorrow. But there's a reason we play the games.
  18. I can't remember him having a good at-bat tonight. He'll need to do better tomorrow.
  19. Yep. The fans of very single team will have doom and gloom anger on their bulletin chat boards about players and manager. Except one.
  20. He gave it all he had, but he had a bad day. It happens in sports.
  21. The same doom and gloom, though. Every time. Our stars let us down tonight. It's a brand spanking new day tomorrow.
