  1. I'm a little concerned. We may have to wait for a while before we see another hard hitting third baseman like Shaw or McGehee. I wonder if the Brewers feel like they can develop someone for the position, the way they developed Durbin last year.
  2. Joey O definitely needs to get going. I hope he spent a TON of time in from the Trajekt machine to get ready for this season.
  3. I'm going to miss Durbin. He wasn't a very good third baseman to begin last season. His throwing and fielding were definitely suspect. But he worked really hard and became a solid player for us. That says a lot. But getting four years of control of a major league pitcher with a little above 4.0 ERA is huge. Hook will dial him in a little bit (or a lot), and he'll help us stay with the Cubs in the divisional race. I also like what we're getting with David Hamilton. He batted .250 in 2024 but fell on last year to .198. If he can find his swing again, he'll help us.
  4. Yep. The official announcement touts all the improvements we'll see in the coverage, which I assume is laying the groundwork for a cost increase.
  5. Exactly. If there's money to be made, someone will figure it out. Full announcement: https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/brewers-games-to-be-distributed-by-mlb-in-2026
  6. Appreciate all the great, informative comments here! I am definitely sad to see Freddy go. He came here as a teenager and grew up in the organization. He was a wild one at first, but in recent years he developed enough control to go scoreless inning after scoreless inning. Sure, he frustrated us by throwing two strikes and then somehow managing to get it to a full count almost every time. But he is a competitor and was a great Brewer. Best of luck to him, except when he is playing us.
  7. Maybe with some better gloves behind him, he has a lot more success.
  8. What’s the horrible smell around the stadium during construction?
  9. Great points!! It felt to me like JoeyO was coming to the plate with base loaded at least once every series, and he failed every time. The stats help with reality.
  10. Yep. Is there an advanced stat to answer the question, Is he clutch?
  11. No one's forgetting. The Brewers said it was already factored in to the previous year's budget, so they didn't really consider it as part of the current deal with Woodruff.
  12. I'm very happy about this! With Woody and Peralta, we have a great chance at another go at the playoffs!
  13. I hope to see some competition at shortstop in one form or another. We can’t live with a black hole at 9, can we?
  14. I guess we find out today. I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't end up a cub or a card.
  15. I’ve always wondered why that area south of the stadium on 59 isn’t developed into a restaurant and bars, maybe a hotel. It feels a little rundown there right now. Maybe it’s too far for people to walk from there to the stadium.
  16. Well deserved! Let's do it again!
  17. I'd love to see Woodruff back. He's a competitor and a winner. He's become less of a power pitcher and more about working the batter. We can play with anyone when he's on the mound. With him and Freddy in the rotation, we would seriously contend again.
  18. Totally agree about the compensatory pick. It’s a crapshoot what do you get somebody you can use.
  19. I should’ve written it in blue. We don't know if Rickie will be a great manager or not. I don't think it's possible to know these things until a manager has worked for a few months or a season, not an inning here and there when the manager got tossed. And then sometimes they fail and come back with another team and win. Like any other job, people find their way as they do the work.
  20. Or maybe Rickie had enough of Murph's weirdness to last him a while.
  21. The baseball contractual system is a bundle of weird.
