    He played the numbers. Siegler's OBP is .319. Durbin's is .326. Factor in righty/lefty and recent trends, and you have your decision. However, I don't discount gut decisions. A manager spends almost everyday with players. He knows them and where they are mentally.

    He's hitting below .189 in the last 15 games. Siegler is .200 in the least 7, and .211 in the last 15 games. And then you also factor in righty/lefty. Who knows what would have happened. That's mindless speculation. But the numbers are the numbers. To me, the reason we lost is our closer couldn't throw his best pitch.

    Is the consensus here that Murph should have given Durbin the AB instead of Siegler. Durbin is hitting .167 in the last 7 games. .189 in the last 15.

    I'm not ready say we should dump Megill but, wow, when his curve ball isn't working, he's got to learn how to figure it out on the fly. The man just has two pitches. He can't go up there throwing only fastballs to major league hitters.
