  1. I guess Id have liked to see Carroll for Kotsay on a double switch.
  2. Carlos Rodon Q&A http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/1077913.html When did you know that the Brewers were taking you? [Laughs] About 3 minutes ago. I just got a phone call from the area scout for the Brewers, Dan Nellum, and he told me that the Brewers drafted me. He said they’re going to watch me this summer in tournaments and club showcases, and then get me caught up on what I need to learn. Were you expecting a call from the Brewers? I thought there was a chance. Before the draft, I had the best conversations with the Brewers, Blue Jays, and Cardinals, but I knew it could be any team that drafted me. I’m really excited about the Brewers. Have you made a decision at this point if you’re going to attend NC State or sign with the Brewers? No, I haven’t. I’m going to take some time this summer to figure it out. I have until August. Obviously, money will play a factor, but an education, especially one at NCSU, is really really important to me. Also, getting to play under Coach Avent and Coach Holliday is a great opportunity.
  3. I guess there is some leg room on the Wisconsin bandwagon for me. Id much rather have lost like that than lost 86-83. The two things that concerned me most about Wisconsin were defense and key players wearing down, and I feel slightly better about both after last night. Defense stepped up last night and kept a good, not great Lions offense to under 40 points and under .9 per possession, and rallied them from a 16 point deficit. As for the tired legs, I dont think it would be good for a team who realies so heavily on thier stars and really only goes so 6 deep (sorry Evans, Valentine, and Berggren are only effective when they match up well with an opposing player) to play 3 games in under 48 hours so Im not too disgusted about the early loss. I'll set myself up for heartbreak as I still think Wisconsin will get to the sweet 16 or beyond. Hopefully, Bruesewitz will be healthy. As long as there opponent doesnt shoot 14 of 15 from three or they dont shoot 2 of 21, Wisconsin will still be a tough out.
  4. I cant imagine anything else other than Arrogant Bastard Ale for Ryan Braun; a strong Southern California ale that backs up its name by being pretty good
  5. I believe it is on the NHL Network if you have satellite....
  6. Why MLB has never made the Cubs do something about this is beyond me. Any time an outfielder goes near the wall he is going to get something thrown at him. MLB should have banned the Cubs from selling the first 2 rows a long time ago.
  7. Peralta looked real good today 91-94 on the gun and topping out at 97. Struggled with control early but settled in nicely, Fredrickson not so much, even his warm-up tosses were giving McCraw a work out. I could live with the lack of control for now if his velocity was strong, but he never even got it to 90 once. I think his delivery hides the ball well, but it doesnt matter when the catcher is having to jump to catch the ball.
  8. Does anyone have a list of scheduled starters for the T-Rats in the Kernals series?
  9. Even better, I would think Hoffman is less likely to get a multi-year deal (than Cordero and Linebrink) and will be more appealing to a team in a win now mode (15-30) as well as that team being far more attactive to Hoffman. Unfortunately said team may also be more likely to sign multiple FAs.
  10. Unfortunately, even if we keep up our pace since June 1st we'll still end up with 72 wins which right now is on pace to be good for the ninth pick.
  11. The only problem is we'll get a bag of balls in exchange. That could come in handy with the amount of home runs were giving up.
  12. The Giants are in playoff contention because they score more runs then they allow. The Pirates have been trying to build through pitching for years and have very little to show. I think you'd agree that the Devil Rays have built a pretty good (although further out than we are) without drafting pitching any better than the Brewers. Bottom line is the way to rebuild is to get as many cheap good players as possible and not go all out for 75 wins.
  13. And in case anyone cares, the Brewers new top of the first music on Sunday with the video was "Not Every Man Lives" by Jason Aldean
  14. I believe "Picking Wild Flowers" by Keith Anderson
