  1. Tuesday 12/10: Via 97.3's "Brewing the Offseason": "Mike Heller, Tim Allen, and David Gasper talk Brewers as the hot stove heats up! They discuss Willy Adames leaving, trade possibilities for Devin Williams, and Todd Rosiak (18:45 minute mark) LIVE from the Winter Meetings!" *** Wednesday 12/11: Via 97.3's "The Steve Czaban Show" (Hour Three): Jeff Levering (go the 06:55 minute mark) *** Thursday 12/12: Via Dom Cotroneo's "Brewers Weekly": - "Dom shares fan reactions to Willy Adames officially leaving the Brewers, details two Brewers acquisitions and talks about trade possibilities for the crew, particularly with Devin Williams" Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "What is Next After the Winter Meetings for the Brewers?"
  2. There were 48 players the Brewers could choose to protect from Rule 5, as the initial post in this thread shows. Even though we broke the 48 down by current level, all those protected from the minor league Rule 5 would be listed in this pool: Baseball America explains: There is also a minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft. Any player who is on the 38-player Triple-A roster is protected from being picked in the minor league Rule 5 draft. So, Miguel Briceno (chosen by the Twins) was one of those not listed at this level. Since the Brewers had room to add two players (RHP Zach Peek and OF Garrett Spain), the most they could have protected was 36, turns out Briceno was not included within that group.
  3. Catcher Jacob Nottingham (still just 29 years old, how?) signed a minor league deal with Seattle. The only pro ball Nottingham played in 2024 was in Mexico. You may remember the 2021 yo-yo tenures Nottingham had with the Crew and Seattle.
  4. Actually, it is likely to technically be a seven-game situation as Chourio’s actual debut was Wednesday, scoring a run as a pinch-runner.
  5. Notes out of the Minor league Phase of Rule 5: 2022 Nashville Sounds reliever Hobie Harris was claimed by the Red Sox, this was just two and a half weeks after Harris had signed a minor league deal with the Mets. RH reliever Taylor Floyd was grabbed by the Mariners from the Twins. Floyd was the PTBNL in the straight-up trade for Trevor Megill, so thank you Taylor (and Matt Arnold). Outside of Rule 5: And because we're fascinated by one of the three pitchers in the Adam Lind deal (sorry, Freddy Peralta), this Japanese-born Brazilian 28-year-old will be in big league camp with the Rangers. Daniel Missaki never through an in-game pitch for the Brewers organization and didn't pitch a single professional inning over a five-year period, 2016-2020. Would be quite the story...
  6. That would be "out of options in 2025" Vinny Capra, by the way. Never mind Capra, they had the spot open!
  7. Tuesday 12/10: Via ESPN Wisconsin's "Wilde & Tausch" (download link): "Pat Murphy - Milwaukee Brewers manager and reigning NL Manager of the Year - joins Wilde and Tausch in celebration of the announcement that ESPN Madison has become Madison's new home of the Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network!" Via WTMJ's Midday News (Download Link): "It's Winter Meeting time and MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy joins the program, and the Crew is back together – kind of. Baseball brass is all getting together for winter meetings to discuss rosters, operations, and even more. Adam gives us an inside look at all things happening. We also discuss losing Willy Adames" Reviewing the Brew's" Cold Brew Podcast: "Dave Gasper and Matt Carroll are back with a fresh episode of the Cold Brew Podcast. Dave and Matt get you caught up on what's been happening these last several weeks, discuss Willy Adames leaving the Brewers for the Giants, Juan Soto's massive contract, Devin Williams trade rumors, and the Brewers rumored interest in Garrett Crochet." Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "The Brewers are very much in the mix for Garrett Crochet of the Chicago White Sox. Devin Williams has a couple of teams after him including the Los Angeles Dodgers - who apparently want to upgrade their bullpen. Matt Arnold gets a well-deserved award and Dave Parker - a one-time Brewer - is headed to the Hall. Matt Welter from Locked on White Sox stops by to talk Crochet." Via "The Bill Michaels Show" (Hour Two): Chuck Freimund (go to the 27:35 minute mark) *** Via our Minor League Forum (Audio & Video options): "BrewerFanatic's Spencer Michaelis and Joseph Zarr recap the Carolina Mudcats' season, tier the Mudcats position players and pitchers and answer your listener questions!"
  8. Brewers GM Matt Arnold: Baseball America’s 2024 MLB Executive Of The Year
  9. Monday 12/9: VIDEO via MLB Tonight: "Matt Arnold joins MLB Tonight during the 2024 Winter Meetings to discuss Executive of the Year, the teams' needs during the offseason and more" Via the "Wisconsin Sports Daily Show" with Steve "Sparky" Fifer: "670 The Score's MLB Analyst Bruce Levine discusses some of the biggest news and rumors coming out of the MLB off season, and how it all affects the Brewers." Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - "The Brewers Playing Among the Big Fishes at the Baseball Winter Meetings" Via the "Cream City Pod" with BrewerFanatic's own Spencer Michaelis: Topics Covered with co-host Gunner Amelunk: - Willy Adames signing with the SF Giants - Thoughts on the contract, from the Brewers perspective - What Willy meant to the Brewers - Matt Arnold joined Steve "Sparky" Pfeiffer for a fun interview, our thoughts on what was discussed - What might be the next move for the Brewers around the Winter Meetings? - Devin Williams Trade? - Gary Sanchez signed with the Orioles - Random Brewers (with a Willy twist) Episode 3 - Tim Dillard's "Buses Benches and Baseball" - Callix Crabbe
  10. Fun story to begin, and then a great interview with Callix Crabbe. Even a "High Desert" mention. Enjoying the recollections, Tim!
  11. Sunday 12/8: Latest Milwaukee Tailgate Podcast - "Steve joined Paul and Ryan to discuss Willy Adames signing with the Giants, some other 2024 Brewers signing elsewhere, the Brewers throwing some spaghetti at the wall on minor leaguers, golden batters and the state of analytics today."
  12. I am hopeful everyone always follows the archived media thread. Sparky and Matt Arnold spent ten minutes discussing the international signing process. Via the "Wisconsin Sports Daily Show" with Steve "Sparky" Fifer: "Brewers GM Matt Arnold joins discusses his scouting philosophy and how he & his team scout from the young age of 13, all the way to college. Matt also talks some of the tough decisions the Brewers need to make this off season."
  13. Actually, I followed up in that thread a day or two later when the Brewers posted an update that did include Luis Perez.
  14. More from Friday 12/6: Via the "Wisconsin Sports Daily Show" with Steve "Sparky" Fifer: "Brewers GM Matt Arnold joins discusses his scouting philosophy and how he & his team scout from the young age of 13, all the way to college. Matt also talks some of the tough decisions the Brewers need to make this off season." Locked on Brewers with Chuck Freimund - Jack Stern from Brewerfanatic joins Chuck to preview the upcoming meetings.
