  1. Guess the Yelich trade eclipses the most recent deal with the Marlins
  2. Replaced this within the thread's initial post: Dodgers (05/04/17) -- Acquired cash considerations in exchange for OF Victor Roache with the Dylan Baker trade to LA.
  3. Just over four years ago, this thread started with this post. Rose Marie's death this week reminded me. At the bottom of this update, listing those still with us, of course others are as well, who were referenced in subsequent posts. Katherine McGregor, Betty White, Norman Lear, Larry Storch, Dick Van Dyke, Bob Barker, June Lockhart, Robert Clary, Charlotte Rae, Bill Daily, Peter Marshall, Katherine Helmond, Orson Bean and Marion Ross are still with us, all 89 years old and above. Of course, those are just the updates from the original post. Thanks to all who have contributed otherwise. The Dead or Alive site isn't perfect. I've emailed multiple times to let them know G.D. Spradlin (Police Academy) and the legendary Maureen O'Hara have passed (still listed as alive).
  4. The Anthony Swarzak acquisition with the White Sox replaced a trade that was tied for the longest current team pairing drought, replacing this memorable deal: White Sox (12/13/04) -- Brewers acquired OF Carlos Lee in exchange for OF Scott Podsednik, RHP Luis Vizcaino and a player to be named (INF Travis Hinton) In terms of trade partners, the longest current gap is now solely with the Rockies (12/13/04). *** Easier to recognize the latest trade with Texas, as the Jeremy Jeffress re-acquisition replaces the big Lucroy/Brinson (plus) deal of last summer on our "Last Trade With" tracker.
  5. The Garrett Cooper for Tyler Webb deal replaces the one below that was within our initial post in this thread. Re-visit that post to see the entire list of "last trades" with all 29 other MLB organizations. Yankees (08/31/16) -- Acquired cash in exchange for UT Eric Young, Jr.
  6. Yes, the Nick Noonan trade replaced this: Marlins (11/25/96) -- Acquired LHP Joel Adamson in exchange for RHP Eddie Collins The new longest drought is with the Rockies (12/13/04).
  7. Here's the trade that was replaced by Thursday's Victor Roache move to the Dodgers within the initial post in this thread: Dodgers (12/18/14) -- Brewers acquired LHP Jarret Martin and OF/IF Matt Long in exchange for C Shawn Zarraga And yes, just two and a half years later, none of the three are currently playing affiliated ball (Zarraga did play for the Netherlands in the WBC this spring).
  8. Replaced this: Astros (11/19/15) -- Acquired IF Jonathan Villar for RHP Cy Sneed with Astros (03/26/17) -- Acquired C Tyler Heineman for a PTBNL or cash in the initial post.
  9. William Christopher, Father Mulcahy on 'M*A*S*H,' dies at 84 http://www.nndb.com/people/645/000023576/mulcahy3-sized.jpg
  10. My wife and I recently rediscovered Bewitched, one of her favorite all-time shows, after not watching episodes for 25 years or more. I was surprised to learn that one of the adult cast members was still with us until this past week, as Bernard Fox (Dr. Bombay) passed away at 89. Some cool info in this article about his approach to that role and his Titanic connections. http://cdn4.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/portrait_300x450/2016/12/bewitched_bernard_fox_photofest_-_p_2016.jpg
  11. Only six organizations had a longer trade drought with the Brewers before this Angels deal was replaced by the Jett Bandy trade: Angels (07/27/12) -- Acquired SS Jean Segura and RHP's Johnny Hellweg and Ariel Pena in exchange for RHP Zack Greinke Kind of goes to show how many deals are indeed made, even though it may not seem so at times. As the initial post shows, many are very minor in nature.
  12. Seriously, 2016? Alan Thicke, actor and dad on '80s sitcom 'Growing Pains,' dies at 69 He also wrote the Different Strokes, Facts of Life, and Charles in Charge theme songs, which bring back even more classic 80's memories. Darn it, mortality...
  13. The initial post in this thread now reflects all 2016 trades.
  14. Goodbye, Green Hornet. http://www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Van-Williams.jpg
  15. Ron Glass, Emmy-Nominated Actor Known for ‘Barney Miller’ and ‘Firefly,’ Dies at 71 The show loses Abe Vigoda and now Ron Glass in the same calendar year. Too many goodbye's lately, we'll hopefully be back to birthdays of "elder" stars soon...
  16. The first 15 minutes of the Today Show, in which Florence Henderson had a prominent place over the years, was particularly touching. Matt Lauer's phone-in tribute was wonderful, it's included in this piece.
  17. Well, she defined TV treasure (goodbye, Florence Henderson). Of course, many took Mrs. Brady to task for the past nearly 50 years (47!) for needing Alice the housekeeper. I guess that was especially so when Alice had to bring in her military look-alike cousin in to fill in while Alice was away for a week. (One week, Mrs. Brady, come on!). The original TGIF lineup included the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family, great times....
  18. Robert Vaughn, suave 'Man from U.N.C.L.E.' star, dies at 83
  19. Happy 92nd to Joyce Randolph of the Honeymooners (Trixie). Here she is three years ago:
  20. What a wonderful little video and not-so-little feature article on 90-year-old (as of yesterday) Betty Lynn, who played Barney Fife's girlfriend Thelma Lou on the Andy Griffith Show. A TV Treasure Who Is Still With Us
  21. From a week ago -- Steven Hill passed away at 94. He played D.A. Adam Schiff on "Law & Order", and was the original leader of the team (before Peter Graves) on the TV series "Mission: Impossible". http://www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/steven-hill.jpg *** From Mission: Impossible
  22. From the initial post in this thread three years ago: Monty Hall of "Let's Make A Deal" is dealing at 92. Well, he's alive at 95, and his birthday is today, 8/25.
  23. Happy Birthday Jeannie! Barbara Eden is 82. A simple Goggle Image search brings back memories and shows more recent photos as well.
