  2. You're probably right, but my question is at what point will his wife cook him a steak? What's the definition of him losing his power? If he finishes the season with under 25 HR's, will he have lost his power?
  3. I think he's lost power and you do not. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. I really don't see him hitting 35 HR's this year.
  4. He's lost his power. We can agree on that, at least so far this year. Is it a coincidence that he's lost his power after giving up meat? Maybe, maybe not. His wife said she'd cook him a steak if he lost his power. After a guy becomes the youngest player in the history of the game to hit 50 bombs and the next season he has 6 through 54 games, I think we should be concerned.
  5. What about his performance through 1/3 of the season leads you to believe he's regained his form from last year? He had 1 HR all of spring training. Several scouting reports said he'd eat his way out of the league. Not many thought it'd be without meat.
  6. I'm not disagreeing with you Stevo. What I'm saying is that it's safe to say he's lost his power. His wife said if he loses his power, she's cooking him a steak. She better fire up that grill tonight!
  7. "My wife said that if I lose some power, she's cooking me a big steak." I think it's safe to say Prince has lost his power. Chanel better be cooking him a massive steak tonight. There was a sense of excitement every time he came up last year that he could hit the ball 500 feet. This year it seems like every time he's up we're hoping he just makes contact. What is going on?
  8. Every pitcher does seem to get his career high against the Crew. Up next - Brandon Backe. We better hit him hard.
  9. Jason Kendall has to lead the league in fly ball outs to right. Geesh.
  10. I'm not sure the name of the condo, but it's the tallest one located on the southern end of Prospect Ave. Braun gets interviewed on 94.5 WKTI out of Milwaukee every Thu morning at 7:45 and mentioned last week he'll be looking to buy a condo in Milwaukee now that he's signed the big deal. He also said Corey Hart is currently involved in long term contract negotiations with the team, something Mr. Melvin has already denied.
  11. Is it just me or does he look heavier this year? I was watching the Brewer classic game on FSN the other night from last August, and he looked noticeably lighter. One would think becoming a vegetarian would cause you to lose weight. That is, if he's not scarfing down sweets and Doritos instead of meat. Is anyone else concerned about his weight?
  12. 90% chance of rain in Boston tonight. We might be playing 2 tomorrow.
  13. So I'm out with a buddy of mine on Tuesday night at Karma on the east side and who walks in....... Gabe Kapler. The place had like 15 people in it. He sat there and watched the Red Sox game and hammered a buffalo burger. I went up to say hello, welcome him to Milwaukee and congratulate him on the game winning hit from that afternoon. Nice guy. No one else in the bar had a clue who he was. Classic.
  14. Uecker just said Gwynn has a slight hamstring pull.
  15. Yes it is. Hall is striking out way too much. He's currently at a 50% clip. Hart needs to be batting 5th.
  16. Also saw Jamey Wright and Richie Sexson at the old O'Danny's on Water St after a Brewers win against the Astros a few years back. Saw Geoff Jenkins at the old 1225 on Water St. hitting on co-eds at the bar. I remember him being really short - looked like a complete tool.
  17. Braun's girlfriend was smoking hot for the person who asked.
  18. This can be a running thread all season long for anyone who sees Brewer players around town or anyone who is aware of what kind of vehicle each player drives. I saw Cappy on his Segway a couple times last year. Also had a Braun sighting on Brady St with his girlfriend. Anyone else?
  19. Study abroad and go without other students you know. Too many kids have their friends along with them when studying abroad, and it really diminished the experience of being in another culture. I took out a loan to study abroad and just made one of my final payments. I majored in international business and one of the pre-requisites was to complete a minimum 6 week study abroad. I finished all my course work in the states, and the only thing I had left to do was the actual study abroad. If you are lucky enough to structure it that way, I would highly recommend it. You will not regret it. If you have a serious girlfriend, I would rethink the study abroad. It's like spring break in a foreign country with people from all over the world.
  20. To touch on qrk's point, here are the violent crime statistics from the FBI website for Minneapolis and Milwaukee: Minneapolis population: 376,277 # of violent crimes: 5,472 Milwaukee population: 586,500 # of violent crimes: 6,010 Violent crimes as a percentage of the population are as follows: Minneapolis: 1.45% Milwaukee: 1.02% Go Mil-town!!!! Milwaukee is one of the most underrated cities in the country. People come here thinking it's garbage at which point they realize it's a great city combining a beautiful lakefront, great restaurants and the Brew Crew, to name a few.
  21. His timing is so off that it's hard to watch as of late. He's consistently fouling pitches off that in the past, he'd drive into the gap. Then he proceeds to swing at 2 strike pitches nowhere in the zone. While we can't speculate as to whether it's a wrist problem or not (and he won't say anything) it's clear is timing is WAY off. If he continues to play and in mid August is swinging at pitches nowhere near the zone, we have cause for concern.
  22. I think Suppan should have been pulled after giving up 5. Yost should take a page from Gardenhire's book. As soon as Slowey started getting hit hard, Gardenhire yanked him. Suppan was getting hit hard the entire game, and Ned sticks with him. He conceded the loss by keeping Soup in there to give up 9 freakin' runs. Graffy is awful. Why can't we hit with RISP? Hart better stay at the leadoff spot. I hate Ned.
  23. Here is tonight's lineup: RF Corey Hart SS J.J. Hardy 3B Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder LF Kevin Mench CF Bill Hall DH Johnny Estrada C Damian Miller 2B Tony Graffanino Prince is the only lefty. Here's to a breakout night for the offense. No more record strikeout performances as we seem to give so many pitchers.
  24. The Brewers haven't played the Red Sox in interleague play yet.
