  1. The Garver Gambit...I like the sound of that! I think Westburg is one of the more likely O's youngsters to be traded. If we throw in Wiemer as well I would like to pry away McDermott or even a Cade Povich instead of or maybe included with DL Hall.
  2. Next up: Top 10 MVP finish
  3. Kenta Maeda was my target for the offseason. I like his upside the best out of the Lugo/Wacha tier of SP free agents.
  4. A Corbin Burnes trade for Stone/Busch/Hurt paired with an Adames extension for 6/120M Sign Mitch Garver to a 2 yr 30M deal with the idea of rehabbing his catching ability and using him as trade fodder while also having an adequate DH. Give Ashby a proper run at starting as a 6th man with Gasser getting the chance in the full rotation. If Ashby can't due it as a starter, give CarRod the run. Bring Peyton Henry back and run 3 catchers if you want to DH Garver/Contreras a lot more often, If not then give Toro the early months to prove his worth as backup 1B/LF Use Mitchell maybe even Black to rest Yeli. I believe Black might end up in the OF anyways in the long run. Speaking of Black, he slots in 3B/1B/DH and like I said maybe even some LF C: William Contreras ($0.77M) 1B: Carlos Santana ($8M) 2B: Brice Turang ($0.77M) 3B: Michael Busch ($0.77M) SS: Willy Adames ($20.0M) LF: Christian Yelich ($26.00M) CF: Sal Frelick ($0.77M) RF: Tyrone Taylor ($1.70M) DH: Mitch Garver ($15M) Bench OF: Garrett Mitchell ($0.77M) Utility: Tyler Black ($.77M) Utility: Andruw Monasterio ($0.77M) Backup C: Peyton Henry ($0.77M) SP1: Gavin Stone ($0.77M) SP2: Freddy Peralta ($5.50M) SP3: Aaron Ashby ($1.25M) SP4: Adrian Houser ($5.60M) SP5: Colin Rea ($3.50M) CL: Devin Williams ($6.50M) RP: Abner Uribe ($0.77M) RP: Hoby Milner ($1.70M) RP: Bryse Wilson ($1.30M) RP: Joel Payamps ($1.70M) RP: Trevor Megill ($0.77M) RP: Elvis Peguero ($0.77M) RP: Kyle Hurt ($0.77M) Payroll is 23.03% under budget
  5. Last offseason I definitely thought Willy could get the Dansby Swanson deal or at least just underneath like you said . I doubt he could command that right now. I think you offer him a player option at the end, if his bat comes back like I think it could, he could easily make a good bag as 33 year old 2B at the end of a 5 year extension.
  6. I think now is actually the perfect time for an Adames extension. Not only does it buy some good PR, he fits into the young guys timeline at a position without any prospects. His 2023 season makes it easier to avoid an overpay for an outlier 2021. But he had a 136 wRC+ in his last 167 PA of 2023 and looked much more the 2022 Willy that was extremely solid. He has the floor of his phenomenal defense and he is much more likely to be an above league average bat (110ish wRC+) than he is to being what he was in 2023 (96 wRC+). He had the worst BABIP of his career while maintaining roughly the same barrel rate and posting a career high walk rate. I say buy low on Willy.
  7. Max Lazar still has some interest to me. I would actually be a bit shocked if Payton Henry doesn't find his way back to the org.
  8. Thank you! LVBP is a must follow even outside of Chourio it seems to me.
  9. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of Brewers minor leaguers in winter leagues?
  10. I know its DSL, but wonder what people's thoughts on Enniel Cortez and Eric Prado. Enniel Cortez' lack of walks was recently highlighted in the latest Foolish Bailey video. Eric Prado also has a sub-1.0 WHIP at age 17 and both have thrown over 40 innings this past year.
  11. Do you think there is any chance the pedigree or "prospect inertia" keeps Lutz in the org for an eighth year if he has an OPS around .750?
  12. Awesome write-up Spencer! I like seeing Jace Avina on these lists, seems like some of the national guys are scared off by the K-rate immediately and are taking a wait and see approach to him. I'm not as concerned about a 19 year-old striking out that much in his first stint in full-season ball. Curious what are your thoughts are on Elvis Peguero?
