For all the bagging on the starting pitching... 1. The margin at this moment is more runs than Marcum allowed; and 2. The Brewers' starters' ERA is better in the LCS than that of the Cards or Rangers. They're not blameless, but the umps and hot offenses have as much to do with it as anything else.

Yeah, I'm as upset as anyone here but it's hardly impossible for the Brewers to light up Joe Saunders of all people. Already a 3-run game with 7+ innings to play. Sucky 1st inning, but Wolf has a history of settling down after the 1st.

I've heard bad things about it. It's not the actual TBS broadcast; you select camera angles to view. So you can see the center field camera, but it doesn't change when someone gets a hit, for example. And you can "mosaic" multiple views but they get out of sync with one another. It all seems kind of pointless to me frankly. And as a fan away from MKE who followed the team on MLB.TV all year and does not have or want cable, it sucks that I'm scrambling to figure out how to watch the playoffs. Come on, MLB, help us out here.

Yup, 36 here, my baseball fan life started with the '82 team when I was 7. 2008 was special, and this seems like a step beyond that.

The JS blog today said Hairston has been battling an injury. Still I'd rather see just about anyone besides Yuni out there at this point.

If you weren't watching on TV, Weeks wasn't even wearing the jersey. He clearly isn't ready to go. They just activated him because it's after 9/1 and there's no reason not to. They gave us hope there in the 9th once they were not facing a Cy level pitcher for the first time in 27 innings.

a3, the relay throw pulled Prince off the bag. Not certain he'd have gotten the guy, the ground ball was fairly slow.

My office is in Queens and you can see Citi Field out the window. There's a big junkyard out there, and occasionally they get those big, smoky tire fires going. I remember it at least once earlier this year. Isn't it lovely?
