  1. This is a special run we're watching here... savor it. And hope they keep it up for 2 more months or so...
  2. From Rotowire: Lefty hitters are batting .384 with a 34:27 BB:K ratio against Morton after Monday night, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. There you go. RR is bringing the lefties.
  3. Per @haudricourt #Brewers lineup vs. Pirates: 3B Lopez, CF Morgan, LF Braun, 1B Fielder, RF Kotsay, SS Betancourt, 2B Counsell, C Lucroy, RHP Marcum. Yay, Sunday lineup. Yikes. Edit: This is as lefty-stacked a lineup as RR can put together (minus Kottaras). I'm going to guess that's what's going on here.
  4. Oh I see. It's brutal the way MLB keeps fans from seeing the games.
  5. No blackout, just one of those weekday home day games FSN doesn't pick up. What really annoys me (as a WI expat using mlb.tv) is that you can't overlay the WTMJ audio over the Chicago video feed today. Irritating.
  6. mlbtraderumors says they want 2 young pitchers and a near major league ready CF. I wonder if Gwynn would count as that CF? Gwynn + Jeffress + Parra for Peavy- I think I would make that trade.
  7. A friend was just listening to WFAN here in NYC and texted me that someone on air said Showalter is the guy but they will wait to announce until after the World Series. I'm not sure what to think of that report (and it's definitely secondhand at best) but it's out there.
  8. lukevan, The ball caromed off the very top of the wall at a weird angle. Young huffed and puffed for the triple (which was hilarious, btw). After a minute, the umps waved him home and called it a HR because of where it hit the wall. It looks like a good call based on the replay, unfortauntely.
  9. Day/night doubleheader tomorrow, according to the JS.
  10. The 1980 Chevette. Imagine it in two-tone blue (light blue top half, navy bottom half.) This is circa 1992. It had a rusted-out floor on the driver's side. I put a panel of stainless steel in there so I could put my feet somewhere, but you could lift that thing up and watch the road go by. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/chevrolet-chevette-4.jpg After the 'Vette burned out it sixth(!) starter in less than a year, I moved on. I had a 1980 Mazda GLC, then a 1980 Honda Prelude. The Honda was a nice ride, but had rust problems and a minor accident turned into a total for that reason. Then there was the 1984 Renault Alliance... then the '72 Super Beetle... ah, my cars (and my misfortune therewith.)
  11. After he whiffed earlier, Jenks was mouthing something as he walked back to the dugout. It looked like "he just OWNS me!" but might have been something different. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Time for another DP? Utley will be a tough customer, though...
  13. ANOTHER double play. Suppan is doing a nice job of keeping the ball down.
  14. I've got mlb.tv (I live out in CT) and I'm watching the Phillies broadcast with the great Harry Kalas. It's pretty weak that Milwaukee's one of the few teams that doesn't have 162 games a year on TV locally. (I'd guess a majority of teams have 162 games in HD locally, no less.) That double Braun hit was just off the top area of the out of town scoreboard. It could have been caught but the fielder was looking at the wall instead of the ball. Suppan looking sharp so far, too.
  15. I work in Queens (lucky me) and usually I can see Shea out my window. Not today with the fog. However there's no real rain out there. Just light drizzle. Let's get this one in....
  16. It wasn't working for me for a good hour or more, but it started working again around 5:45pm eastern.
  17. Watching the game now on MLB.TV in Connecticut. I re-upped tonight too, though it's my first year in a while following them from somewhere besides MKE. (Yanks/Mets blackout territory, FWIW). I got the Premium package this year so I'm a little disappointed this game is only in a 400k feed. I would be very disappointed if during the year it turned out that only certain games were available at 800k or 1.2 meg. With that said the 400k quality isn't too bad. The Silverlight player doesn't take 30 seconds to 'warm up' like the regular media players in past years; it fired up instantly.
  18. My gaming axe of choice is the DS, and I think I'm going to grab the DS version tonight. It won't be quite as slick as the 360 version, but I will be able to play it on my flight tomorrow. Any other DS Madden players who want to swap friend codes, PM me?
  19. And That: Judas! For the record, I believe the Cubs will collapse worse than the Brewers, and the Brewers will edge St. Louis for the division title with an 83-79 record. (To which you say: Yer a LIAR!)
  20. A: Steel-toed boots Q: What does Barry Bonds appear to be wearing on his feet, by the way he "runs"?
  21. Q: what post is about to get deleted?
  22. Cubs lose! Cubs lose! What can I hear Harry Caray saying in my head about now?
  23. The FOX national telecast What Brewers game broadcast is even more amateurish than the regular local FOX Sports North games? D-backs Who have taken a late one-run lead at Wrigley?
  24. Villy has icewater in his veins. Seriously. We complain about the bullpen around here, but the Crew has at least three guys who could close for 2/3 or more of the league.
